Great Learning Toy

Both my 3 1/2 year old and 1 year old granddaughters received these for gifts. The colors are wonderful - really true colors. No loose magnets. I love the wooden boxes. I ordered two boxes of each so we can spell loads of words. I love the idea of upper and lower case in one set.

Magnetic letters very effective for my 3 & 4 year olds to learn how to put words together. I bought an extra box to have lots of vowels.

Magnetic Alphabet

This is a nice magnetic alphabet set. They are a little smaller than I thought, but I don't think they're small enough to be a choking hazard unless you've got a major chewer. We're using these with the Step 2 easel. Overall sound construction and another good product from Melissa & Doug.

We're very happy with the quality of these letters. We were looking for a set that has lower case and these have completely met our expectations.

the best fridge magnets!
Posted 1/9/2012 by Michelle Miller

Setting: Home

I wanted fridge magnets that were both upper and lower case, and these fit the bill. My 2.5 year old daughter loved those ubiquitous junky all upper-case ones. They are a great manipulative, but kids need to learn upper and lower case simultaneously. This set is great: a good size, seem durable (in that the magnet surface coats the whole back). I didn't give it 4 stars because the shapes of some of the letters could be a little sharper, to help with recognition. And like all of the Melissa and Doug products that populate our home, the box doesn't close, whereas it could be a nice closed carrying case. Overall great value though.

Love the Letters
Posted 1/27/2011 by CHRISTINE A POKORNY

Rating:

My 2 & 3 year old grandsons play with these letters frequently. They use the refrigerator as well as a magnetic board I bought to "play school". We spell out their names and their family member names. Great practice.
These letters are so much nicer than the plastic letters with a magnet insert. These are much sturdier and safer!!!

good product

I like these because the entire back of each letter is magnetic, rather than small pieces that can fall out. The letters are also larger than traditional fridge magnets, and brightly colored. They've withstood chomping thus far. My son enjoys playing with these.

Magnetic Wooden Alphabet

Rating:

I was pleased with the quality of both the wooden alphabet and numbers that I purchased for my grandson. They were a bit smaller than I had expected, but extremely well made. I bought 2 boxes of letters so he would have enough vowels and consonants to spell most words.

I bought this for my granddaughter to teach her to spell her name. She is having a ball putting together all kinds of words.
She is 4 and will go get the letters and ask me to play with her with them.

Great Learning Resource

We were thrilled to find a product that enabled our son (in kindergarten) work on upper and lower case letters and begin to construct words on the table or a magnetic surface. Great product!

Upper and lower case ABC letters made of wood with a magnetic backing. The backing covers the entire letter and is firmly adhered, which is a plus -- no small pieces! I like how these look on the refrigerator and my toddler enjoys sorting them while I am busy in the kitchen! We can work together to identify sounds and make words. Well constructed classic toy.

I have installed them in a museum gallery on a wall painted with magnetic paint. Children can't keep their hands off of them and we can promote literacy while their parents enjoy the exhibit.

We put these on our refrigerator and about every third day we spell something with her on the fridge, names, Mom, Dad, bird, etc. We take some other magnets she has with pictures and spell the picture for her. She is just 26 months old and is starting to say what the letters are. I like this toy as a background learning toy.
