The puzzle looked solid and well made. I purchased it as a gift so I don't know how it will hold up to a 3 yr old's usage but it is definitely a bright, attractive wooden puzzle and the little guy loved it immediately. Only issue is that - as with all same type puzzles - once you take the pieces out of the wooden frame you need a baggie to store them (unless you own the special storage box) AND there's no picture to look at when trying to put the puzzle back together!

This is the second pirate jigsaw puzzle I have purchased. My son had the puzzle and lost a piece and wanted another one. He is 3 1/2 and really loves this particular puzzle. Plays with it repeatedly. I am satisfied with this product. I would recommend it to any parent. If your child likes pirates, this is the puzzle.

Little Boy Loves Pirates and Puzzles!

My 3 1/2 year old grandson loves pirates and puzzles so this was a major hit. The entire family took it to a lakehouse for Spring Break and put it together multiplr times. Each time he did more of the puzzle himself. It is sturdy and easy to use and will keep for a long time.

The product is in decent quality based on its price. They only have a small overall pattern on the back of base. So it will be great if they can print the overall picture, or even small picture, on the base face. As no reference picture, it is even difficult for adult to complete the puzzle.

Good quality puzzle - stiff when new

I bought it for my almost 4 year old daughter, and she loves it. It is very colorful. There are 48 pieces, but they are quite distinct so the dificulty is not very high.
There are two issues that I have with it:
- new puzzle is quite hard to take apart, and the first time it was hard to put back together as the edges are not very smooth. By the third time, there was no issue with this.
- it would be nice to have a picture you are putting together not one the back of the board but as a separate sheet. I had to actually hold the puzzle up so my daughter could check the picture.

I purchased this puzzle for my 2 year old son who simply loves puzzles. And what little boy can resist anything pirate themed?! This Pirate puzzle was the perfect transition for my son from 24 pieces to 48. The quality of the puzzle is excellent and the wooden puzzle pieces give me the confidence that this puzzle will weather not only my 2 year old but also time and siblings which is wonderful! M&D puzzles are fabulous and our collection at home can attest to that.

Great quality puzzles. My grandsons (ages 2 & 3) love these M&D puzzles and they never tire of doing them over and over.

This puzzle is fantastic! My 3 year old son has moved beyond the basic puzzle. The colors are bright and engaging. The puzzle is just difficult enough to intrigue my son, but not so difficult that he gives up. I would highly recommend this puzzle to any active child!

A great puzzle. It is well made and durable. The pieces are not all the same so my toddler really has to think about the pieces. It comes on a board which is great for the child doing the puzzle as well as storage. This has been a huge hit in my house. I highly recommend it.

I bought the product for my nephew who is 4 years old and he enjoyed putting the puzzle together. I thought the pieces were very well made and I enjoy all the Melissa and Doug products I have bought in the past.

I absolutely love the color of these puzzles. The fact that they are challenging for my 3 year old and easy to transport around the house (with the wood backing) makes them my favorite. The puzzles are a bit fragile in that my daughter broke a piece of the wood and tore the picture when separating the pieces.

My 4 year old son loves the puzzle. All the different colors makes it easier to do then some other puzzles we have. Also, the puzzle itself is heavy duty. The pieces are pretty thick and can withstand some roughness.
