I have a house full of toddlers. They are rough with everything. These toys are made to last. Rather than spend money on cheap, plastic toys that will be ruined i a matter of days... get your money's worth. They are realistic, vibrant, and come in equally sturdy crates to hold the food items on. I ordered all the Melissa and Doug Food Sets and am very satisfied.

The play food set was great. Each item is made to last so that my tough little boys don't destroy it as they have with other plastic foods.

These play items are solid, not like the cheap cardoboard stuff that falls apart easily or the plastic stuff that gets dented. The only downside thus far to them is the paint kind of rubs off if it's run along something hard, leaving a mark.
The crate these come in is also as great as the products themselves! Love to contain that mess!
Wooden Pantry Set

My daughter has a wooden kitchen set and these pantry items were a great addition. She already had a wooden set of the four basic food groups so I was looking for something to expand her menus! So many of the play foods are made of cheap plastic that just looks junky. These are sturdy and store/stack very neatly. They can also withstand the wear and tear that my two and three year-olds and their older siblings put on them! Great toy.

My grandchildren, ranging in age from 1 to 8, all love playing with the play food. The play food seems very durable. Will last for years of play.

While it might look expensive, it is totally worth it. Will not crush or dent like blown plastic toys. Colors and detail also better then plastic toys.

This product is built to meet the expectations of sturdiness! The toy food items will not be easily smashed, torn, or destroyed. The wooden products are sturdy, colorful and well made. My 5 year old daughter was absolutely delighted with them. She said "Mommy, it's just like real food!"

My two year old daughter loves this toy! She wakes up in the morning and asks for it! It is a great toy and will last for years to come.

We purchased the Deluxe Wooden Play Food 12-Piece Set. Our daughter loves it. She loves playing house and organizes all of her groceries. The wooden items are sturdy, well-built and brightly colored. I recommend them to any parent.

These food products are wonderful for my grandchildren. Unlike the paper and plastic, these items will stand the test of time and are more realistic. My grands think I am the best nana ever to have things their size that look like mine. I am so pleased with the variety and detail.

This was a really cute set. I like that there are no name brands on anything, and since it is solid wood, each piece is extremely durable. Great for parents who want their kids to use their imaginations to play.

The foods seem sturdy and don't have sharp edges. My 1 yr old and 3 yr old like them.

My psychiatrist daughter put this item on her wishlist for her toddler son, so it was well-vetted before I ordered. The wooden box the foods arrive in look like a fine place to keep them stored when a tired toddler shopper must put them away. They appear shiny and substantial to hold in a little hand. Of course, I haven't yet seen them in play ... But as for shipping and wrapping (they come covered in clear wrap so you can see), I'm quite pleased.

I was looking foor a well made safe toy for an active little girl, and found exactly what I was looking for. What makes it better was the reaction from my sister, who said I read that Melissa and Doug food is the best, and I agree. Thamk you for making a safe, durable, fun toy that promotes healthy choices!

My girls love this! They have a kitchen set and we have been through all the cheap plastic food items which break, get squashed and eventually get thrown away. This wooden pizza is durable & fun at the same time and the cool velcro option makes it really fun for the girls to play pizza party. We have purchased many other wooden food items from Melissa & Doug and all are top quality and worth the money!

I love the quality of all Melissa and Doug products. The food set is one of many in our collection. I have a six, four, and one year old and they all enjoy the products in their own way. I am thrilled that the toys are wooden, brightly painted and lack batteries! The children use their imaginations and will enjoy them for hours and most likely years to come.

My 2 yr old absolutely loves this set. It pairs well with the cutting food sets we already have and makes play time make-believe snack time. He stirs up culinary masterpieces in his Bilibo using a shake of this and that from the play food set. The finish on the "boxes" is colorful, bold, and identifies the "contents" well enough for my 2 yr old to figure them out. The only change I would like to see made is in rounding off all of the corners. The edges do get knocked into one another in play and we have a few chips already.

This was bought as a present for my 18 month old granddaughter, who has played with similar items at a friend's house. I think these items are far more sturdy than the ones she has been playing with...no fear of them falling apart during play. I unpacked them to be sure they were as good as they looked. They really are - strong, well-colored, able to stand up to many hours of the rather rough play of toddlers. I am well pleased with the Play Food Set.

I bought the food as an accessory for a kitchen I bought my daughter for her birthday. The packaging is fine and the food looks nice. I love Melissa and Doug items and have bought many of them over the past 3 years.
