My son is 2 1/2 yrs old and had a large wood puzzle he played with almost everday. So I decided to look for some more of similar appeal. He really enjoys this puzzle. He plays with at least everyday. Not only by fitting the pieces, but he actually plays with the pieces themselves. I even lay them out on the floor for my 10 month old and she loves to handle them and scatter them around. i would definately recommend this and similar products for the 1-3 yr age group.

I gave the safari puzzle to my 2 year old grandson, Josi, for his birthday. Josi is adopted from Ethiopia. He loves the safari animals. The puzzle has a solid construction and the chunky puzzle pieces are easy for his little toddler hands to manipulate.

My 15 month old daughter loves all of the Melissa and Doug chunky puzzles. This one is no exception. These puzzles are great for early toddlers. She can spend 20-30 minutes just taking each puzzle apart and putting it back together again before moving on to something else. Quite a feat to keep my toddler's attention for this long! Great quality puzzles. We love them.

Chunky Puzzles

I have bought several of these puzzles. I am a speech-language pathologist and the puzzles are great therapy tools. The thick pieces are easy for young hands to grasp and manipulate. The bright colors and detailed paint jobs are engaging to young eyes. The pieces can be used not only as puzzle pieces but can also stand alone and be used in imaginative play. They're great!

My daycare children love these puzzles. They also use the animals to play in our block center. They are big, easy to hold on to, and stand on their own.
