I purchased this product for my 3 year old who loves large stuffed animals, especially dogs. The Shih-Tzu is very life like and looks similar to our live Shih-Tzu poodle mix. The stuffed dog is very cute and has a soft body and is the perfect size for our daughter to snuggle with. I also like the way he sits up and doesn't just flop over.

Review for Shih Tzu - Plush
Posted 6/6/2009 by Maureen E Vezina

Rating:

I purchased two of these toys for my adult daughters. We recently adopted a shih poo, Tony, from a shelter. I was looking for a stuffed toy that resembled our new dog so my daughters could have reminders of him in their apartments. These toys are perfect. They are larger than our little guy but come close to catching his sweet disposition. I didn't give a rating of 5 stars because there was some messy gluing on some seams.

Big Fun!

Bandit the Shih Tzu...WOW what a dog! He arrived happy and healthy and oh, so, much bigger than we thought! Which of course, is quite wonderful and gathered squeals of delight. He's soft and silky and is quite content to join our family. We are thrilled adding this amazing dog to our family of dogs. He looks just like a real Shih Tzu, much to our delight!

New Plush Shih Tzu
Posted 4/20/2011 by Jim

Rating:

This gift was more of a "decorative" piece for my girlfriend, as she has a Shih Tzu that looks very similar to it. She, herself, won't exactly be "playing" with the toy, but it's distinctly possible that the dog will!
Upon opening the item and finding that it was, in fact, life-size (and just a big larger than our actual Shih Tzu), I decided to bring the real dog in to see it. There was a lot of smelling and intrigue! Once the "new" smell wears off, I'm certain that our dog will interact with it a little more and perhaps even snuggle up to it.
My girlfriend intends to put it on an empty chair on near and end table for display, etc. Again, decorative and possibly conversation-starting... I didn't really intend for this "toy" to be played with.

Mine May Have Been a Bad One
Posted 6/24/2009 by Diane

Rating:

When you pick out a stuffed animal in person, sometimes one is cuter than another. Perhaps that's the case here and I just got a bad one. The right eye was off to the side and you could barely see it. The face was not as cute as I expected. Also, it did not have a cuddly type of fur. I was disappointed and returned it.

I purchased the toy based on the good reviews. The stuff animal I feel I could of gotten anywhere. The fur on the toy needed to be combed to make it look decent. Every stroke of the comb I lost fur from the animal. I don't feel I would recommend this product. If you want a stuff animal just go to your local department store and see what they have -- buying this one 'sight unseen' was not a good choice.

Shih Tzu is the Shiz

I'm fairly impressed with the toy. Overall great quality/craftsmanship. I didn't realize it was life sized until I got it. Only complaint is that the fur isn't really furry but more like cotton candy texture and sheds a little. It's not a terrible thing, just unexpected. All together I think any kid would enjoy the toy. (I bought it as a joke for a friend who wants a shih tzu but can't have a real one.)
