Great puzzle, questionable construction

We have had this puzzle for a couple of months now. My 2.5 yr old son LOVES it. He can put it together in about 15 minutes all by himself and then wants to do it again and again and again. I love that it has the board to build it on so that the pieces are contained. The only problem is that he uses it so much that the paper is ripping all over. I wish there was some kind of coating to keep the picture on the pieces.

We love Melissa and Doug toys but the wooden puzzles when you first get them are really hard to get apart. The pieces seem like they should be sanded on the edges otherwise when the child pulls the pieces out, it pulls the edges and sometimes pulls the picture layer up and off! We used fine sandpaper on all the edges of the pieces and it worked fine afterwards.

This is a great puzzle as all of the Melissa Doug puzzles are. They are great quality and have viberant pictures that my sons loves piecing together. He loves puzzles but always gravitates towards these because of they are so colorful and fun.

My nephew loves puzzles and we are particularly fond of the Melissa & Doug puzzles. He really enjoyed the puzzle design & images. I liked having the puzzle fit back into a wooden frame.

My 3 year old LOVES puzzles. We already have some of the other wooden Melissa and Doug puzzles so I knew he would like this one. It is made well. We have had no problems with it. I would recommend having an adult take the puzzle apart the first time as the pieces are stiff and an anxious child could possibly chip the sticker/paint on the pieces.

A great sturdy puzzle that can be done on any surface. The pieces stay together better than a regular cardboard puzzle, which is great for our preschool age son.
