This toy is just like the real thing - only COOLER! We have a 4 year old boy and 1 year old girl and they both love it for different reasons! It's perfect and like all Melissa and Doug toys - it's well made and will outlast their use for them! Great for passing along to another family! We love them!

Very cute addition to my daughters play area. The shaking sounds make it seem all the more real as they "season" the food. Melissa and Doug always has good quality toys.

I have a 2 yr old son who likes to shake things up. So I decided to buy him a spice rack. He loves it. He likes to shake the spices and put them back in the rack. I like that the incorporated numbers and colors into the spices.
Not What I Expected

The Spice Rack was too big. I expected life size or smaller spice containters and was very disappointed when this toy arrived. The salt and pepper shakers are enormous and offer a dangerous combination of squared corners and considerable weight. I had been wanting this to put in the kitchen for my girls so they could "cook" with me - what I hoped would be a tasteful alternative to plastic food toys. (Note From Fat Brain Toys: We are sorry the spice rack did not meet the expectations. A full refund will be given to Ms. Nickerson when she sends the product back to us.)

This set not only is adorable, but it's a "smart" toy too. Each of the differently sized spice containers rests in its own square cutout in the base of the rack, plus the caps come off so your child can practice matching them up by size or by color. So it serves as a shape-sorter (or rather, a size-sorter). The containers also rattle, which adds more fun to your child's make-believe play. The quality is great- the set is all wood and of substantial size. It looks great in my daughter's wooden play kitchen. A great buy!

Like all of Melissa & Doug's products, the spice rack is sturdy, colorful, and nice looking. The graduated sizes allow for sorting and stacking, which are favorite activities for our toddler.

The Spice Rack is the perfect size for little hands. Not too big, and not too small. The shaking sounds offer a perfect addition to the authenticity of their cooking. Melissa and Doug toys are hands-down the best!

My girls aged 3 and 7 years both loved this toy. It comes with a nice wooden spice rack and all of the "spices" have removeable lids. They also loved that the "spices" made shaking sounds when they pretended to use them. I would recommend this product to others. Thanks.

I have twin 3 yr old boys that enjoy helping me in the kitchen. They love the toy spice rack set because now they can add spices to the meals they prepare in their play kitchen - 'just like mom.' They also like the fact that the containers make noise when shaken. This toy was definitely a hit in our house!

I know my little granddaughter will love it! Each wooden spice is bright and colorful and rattles when you pretend to shake the spices out. Another great product from Melissa & Doug!

Pretty basic design. I assume that young kids will enjoy it. It seems to be solidly constructed.

The Spice Rack Set is for my grandson. It looks like it is well made and he will enjoy enjoy it for a long time. He loves to play with his mother's spice jars, but now he can open them so this is a perfect toy for him.

Our 2 1/2 year old daughter has really enjoyed having the spice rack in her play kitchen. She loves the way the lids come off and the real shaking sounds each spice makes. She "cooks" several things and pretends the spices are varying ingredients depending on what she's making. She even adds "sugar" to my coffee for me each morning! I would highly recommend this product as it has really enhanced my daughter's imaginative play!
