This is very well made, as are most Melissa and Doug toys. The sounds of chopping the sushi rolls are very realistic. I am sure the product will last as long as my other Melissa and Doug toys have.

As a family we enjoy eating sushi. My daughter enjoys pretending to make, eat and serve the sushi to the family. I particularly like the Velcro on all the pieces and on the chop sticks. It makes it easier to manipulate. I like being able to introduce multicultural food.

Sushi anyone? Our children always enjoyed observing the Sushi Chefs at the restaurants. Now they can pretend to be one at home. Elicits cooperative play and use of their imagination. Hours of entertainment. One kid takes food orders and the other one prepares the sushi. Mom and dad, be prepared to be served sushi all day!

I got this for my two year-old daughter, & being that we love sushi, I think it is really cute! It is really unique, & the price was really nice, too! I know that she will treasure it forever.

My granddaughter has several of the Melissa & Doug toys, and she enjoys them a lot. She likes her new sushi slicing box as she loves eating sushi herself. Cutting the velcro pieces is always fun. As always, the product is very well made. They should have put a top on the box, however, so that the pieces would not get lost.

We love anything by Melissa and Doug for a variety of reasons. You get exactly what you think you'll get. They make everything out of natural woods and they use non-toxic water based paints. Their toys are creative and fun for ages 3 mo.s and up. This sushi set of way too cute and there are so many cool peices. It goes great with the World Snacks "First Book of Sushi"!

The Sushi Slicing Box was a fantastic purchase! Even though it says it's for 3+, my 2 year old daughter absolutely loves it! She especially loves to cut the sushi rolls. The velcro makes it easy for little hands to cut and put them back together again, plus it makes a great cutting sound! Even though Melissa and Doug products are a bit on the pricey side, they are well worth it because you know you'll be getting a quality toy.

When it comes to pretend play food items, Melissa & Doug toys are the best. These charming and sturdy wooden toys are fun to play with and are heirloom-quality. This is the only pretend play sushi set that I've ever seen. It's fun to assemble pieces of sushi that stay together via the velcro strips. I bought several sets for gifts.

My son had a Chinese Theme birthday party and we bought him the sushi set (both of his uncles LOVE sushi) and our son loves "play food". What a huge hit! He didn't want to open any of his other toys - just wanted to play with the sushi kit. LOVED to "build" sushi, dip sushi in the sauce bowl...and "share" with his party guests. As my brother said when he saw it "That's pretty sweet."
P.S. My son can be a little hesitant around a group of people - this was a nice little "ice breaker" for him!

I purchased this sushi set for my 3 year old son and it has been the biggest hit! All the pieces have little velcro bits on them as do the chopsticks. So this makes picking up the sushi with the chopsticks very easy for little hands! My son also loves "cutting" the rolls with the wooden cleaver that is included. Another quality product by Melissa & Doug!

I got the wooden sushi set for a five year old boy who loves it! He's had it for a little over a week and it's a great quality product. I would definitely recommend it!

My husbands 5 year old niece absolutely loves this toy. She lines all the sushi up then "chops" it into it's pieces. I couldn't believe the chopping noise it makes. She also loves the chopsticks that come with it. A remarkable and DIFFERENT toy for any child that loves to "cook". I highly recommend it for anyone that's looking for a cute and unique toy

My two boys (8 and 4) love making sushi and serving it to me in their sushi restaurant. Something about the exoticness of a Japanese restaurant appeals to them, as well as being exceedingly polite about the whole interaction (what they also have picked up about Japanese-ness, I guess). I think they also like the fact that the ingredients (especially the fish eggs) are potentially "icky" to some sensibilities. And they like arranging and re-arranging the items in the bento box (again, picking up on the Japanese flair for presentation). For all these reasons, this toy is a big hit and a bigger hit, I expect, than a similar item with less "exotic" food choices.

The Sushi Slicing Box looks just like it did on the website, which is sometimes not true. Great quality and exactly what I was looking for. I love all the pieces. Perfect for my half Korean niece.

Our 2 year old son loves the Sushi set, including the slicing, the chopsticks and the box itself. We take this with us to sushi restaraunts, to keep our son happy while we enjoy our sushi. The pieces are well made and sturdy, while still being lightweight. Other parents in the restaurant loved the set and had to know where we got it! I thought the plastic cover would make a great cutting board, however it cracked after the first use. The ribbon of seaweed is stretching out of shape after only one evening of use. Other than that, it's great.

The product is everything I expected, except for the packaging. I purchased the exact same product at a store and it had a clear cover that slid into the wood box. That way none of the pieces would fall out. The one I received from you has nothing over top so it is harder to carry around and store.

A nice set of play sushi pieces, from rolls to sushi, a chunk of 'wasabi' and piece of felt 'pickled ginger'. It even comes with little velcro 'seaweed' strips.

It was wonderful. It was for a 5 yr old boy and 3 yr old boy twins. Their Mom and Dad eat Japanese food a lot and this toy just hit the spot.

This is a great toy! I love the variety of pieces, rolls for cutting and sashimi sushi. Very creative. My kids use this set all the time, and it makes a great gift!

A wonderful product! I gave the Sushi Box as a gift. It is being played with by a 2 yr old as well as the 4 yr old it was meant for! Both kids actually tried real sushi as a result of this toy. Looking forward to purchasing similar items from Melissa & Doug for my Godkids!

Really cute toy for little sushi lovers. I am a teacher, and this goes well in our kitchen in the classroom. The kids enjoy cutting up the sushi, using the chopsticks, adn pretending the wasabi burns their mouth. Great quality, as always, from Melissa and Doug. I would love to see more multi-cultural food sets.

Having purchased another Melissa and Doug slicing toy in the past the fruit & veggie set ("Cutting Food Box") this one looked like a fun option. I love Melissa and Doug quality and was very happy with this purchase. My three year old is having fun serving up sushi!

For children interested in food and creative play, this is a great little toy. I have not always been impressed with the quality of Melissa and Doug's wood, but this one is quite nice. Bright, fun painting and other nice features: the chop sticks have velcro on them to help little hands use them to pick up the sushi, the bento box is realistic too- (which delights), as well as using the felt pieces of ginger and ribbons of seaweed to hold pieces together. The sushi loving 3 year old that I gave this to picked it out of all of the birthday gifts to play with first!
