I think it is a great way to introduce analogies to younger kids. My first grader can't do them all but it is amazing what she can do in this book.

The progression of analogies is clear to my 9 and 11 year olds. They easily progressed throught this book adn we are odering the next level. After doing a mediocre job at standardized tests last year in this area, I think we are on the way to vast improvement.

Analogy Challenges Level A

My 8 year old daughter enjoys the word challenges and unscrambling the letters to find the final answer. However some of the analogies involve writing a sentence and she doesn't think it is necessary to do that, she understands the difference just by doing the analogy. I tend to agree with her.
