Each student received one and had great fun putting the cameras together as well as getting a better understanding of how a camera works and the function of a pin hole camera.

Hole-On Ex Could Be Better
Posted 5/11/2006 by David Yeater

Rating:

The Hole-On Ex Camera is a well produced item, but is lacking in design, and in R & D. It is obvious that this camera was patterned after the Dirkon Camera created back in the 70s but has been adapted with some improvements made. Unfortunately, it still lacks in the way the original did: The film advance does not take into consideration film tension, which makes the film unspool inside the camera; There is no rewind, and the instructions say to take the camera to a lab to be opened. A lot of time is spent building non-working features to make it look like an SLR camera. What I like about the camera is the excellent quality of the printing and use of black-backed cardstock, ease of punching out the parts, and the simple (though perhaps too simple) visual instruction sheet. It is not a simple camera to put together and purchasers should expect it to take about 3 hours to build.
