Collage Craft a winner!
Posted 7/22/2013 by P Owen
This is a review for "My First Creative Collage Monster Trucks". I purchased this item for my 4-year old son who recently broke his arm...we've been on the lookout for fun inside activities to do now that he can't really do much outside. This was a GREAT product! It comes with three monster truck pictures, craft supplies to complete the collages, and even plastic hanger tabs so you can hang the pictures up once you've got them done (great for my sons room which is cars/trucks theme). EVERYTHING you need is included. You remove various sections from the picture to reveal a "sticky" part, and then you take the corresponding color/texture item and complete that part of the picture. Once you've done all the collage parts, you remove a "sticker" from the outside portion of the picture, stick the "frame" of the picture back down and have a completed piece of art that you can hang up. We have had sticker and foam mosaic art before, but I have found that my kids get bored with it before they complete the picture. With this kit, because there are different craft supplies....glitter, pom poms, rubber bits for tires, cut to shape fabric, etc....it kept even my 4-year old son's interest for the entire project. And, the craft was simple enough that my 4-year old son could actually do the project, not just sit next to me while I did it. The plastic hanger tabs are a wonderful inclusion also...we took my son's finished picture right up to his room and hung it up on his wall (this means I don't have to shuffle a craft project around from shelf to table to ....). I would recommend having a paper plate handy so that when you poor the glitter, rubber bits, etc. you can catch the excess and pour it bag into the container to use for the next picture. Also, I would recommend doing the sticky blue glitter goo part of the picture last...otherwise, other bits stick to the blue too. GREAT product. I would definitely like to see more stuff like this for my son!
