Deflated Earth Ball

The product looked great, however the vinyl ripped after one use. The Earth Ball was thrown into a crowd of elementary school students at an Earth Day assembly and it immediately began deflating. Upon inspection a 2" tear was found. This was very disappointing as there were two more assemblies planned for that day at which the Earth Ball was to be used. (Note from Fat Brain Toys: No worries, Ms. Sears, you're soon to be having a ball once again. A replacement Earth Ball will be sent by the manufacturer.)

This thing is so cool. As soon as we got it we ran to the gas station to blow it up! It's a really cool product. I am very pleased.

How can something this expensive be this poorly made?

Our EarthBall lasted less than 2 hours before it popped, despite the great care taken to ensure that it did not. We purchased it for our daughter's 5th birthday party, which had a recycling/earth/space theme. We had the crazy idea that it could be donated to her school after the party. Despite the fact that the ball was kept in a large open space without ground hazards, was slightly underinflated to allow for some give in the fabric, was only being used by a small group of children whose average age was 4, was being supervised by a number of parents, and was never kicked, it did not make it through the party. This could - and should - have been a wonderful toy. The graphics are very nice. It was both hard to miss and hard to ignore. It certainly did help to foster group play among a group of children who do not know each other well. It is very unfortunate that we cannot expect a better quality.
(Post thank you message from our customer: After hearing my story, Fat Brain Toys immediately offered my choice of a refund or replacement. I was informed by the customer service representative -who contacted the manufacturer- that the average lifespan of an Earth Ball should be closer to a year, rather than an hour! We would not hesitate to order from Fat Brain Toys again.)

We used 2 of the earth balls in our community parade last weekend. What a hit! Real crowd pleasers. They were visible, people could see us coming; intergenerational, everyone wanted to play!; durable, the parade was about a mile long and both balls still looked brand new when we were finished. We had a blast!

Earth Ball Gets Attention

This is made of heavy duty vinyl (which does emit fumes) and is durable. The imaging is very good. It's an effective interactive toy and prop for events. We used it for Earth Concert and events.

The Earthball was purchased as a visual for our Christmas worship at our church. It is perfect for what we need it for and we were very happy to find something that will work so well.
