The item was purchased as a gift for my son. He works with Early intervention, and a similar product is used at his sessions that he absoultely loves. She has one square peg board with the same colored pegs. so the additional pegs and ability to stack just adds to the fun of the game for him.
He learns dexterity with placing the pegs. Colors and arranging with placing similar pegs in a line and fine motor skill when we turn the peg board over and he pushes the pegs out...(I think this is his favorite part)

Good for all ages, not harmful to babies,good toy to pull out now and then...that's why I got more...to add to small set I bought 10yr ago or so for other grandchildren.

I use this with my autistic students. This toy prompts them to track movements up, down and across the different levels. It combines an activity my students enjoy (putting the pegs in the holes) with an opportunity for teachers to prompt students to interact and engage in joint attention. Also you can work on color and shape concepts in a more natural play environment.
