The jump rope is very colorful and fun. The rubber bands are thick, so they should endure well. They provide a good weight as well. It's nice that the jump rope can be created to a particular length and that you can add length as the child grows. The handles are foam, so they get soggy if left out in the rain. When I bought this for my child, I missed the ages listed (8+). My 7yo wasn't able to put together the jump rope, so I did. It wasn't difficult for an adult. It probably took less than an hour.
