Great Toy!

Rating:

This is a great toy with many uses. My 4 1/2 year old son has a sensory processing disorder and we use these to practice throwing, fine motor for snapping, and it looks cool enough to use at school during circle time over his shoulders to help keep him calm.

This is a great toy for kids with sensory processing issues! My kid loves them and it also helps him stay calmed and focus. The snaps are easy to attach and detach. Great buy!

Use of Snap Bags in a Social Skills group

Setting: Counseling Sector

I am a psychologist who purchased the Snap Bags to use in my social skills group. I first read about them in conjunction with other therapeutic materials and the uses seemed wide and varied. One of the features I was hoping for was that the children would be able to snap and unsnap the bags. Older children probably can, but my 4-7 year olds, some with fine motor difficulties, were not able to. One activity was for children to attach to each other using the bags and try to go through an obstacle course without unsnapping the bags. The snaps are so tight, that this is not really a great use of the bags--the snaps would probably rip out of the bags before they would unsnap, is my guess. BUT they are very durable, have a nice weight to them (a true bean bag), and I like that they have different numbers and colors so that you can use them in different ways. So far, we have used them in a "race" where the kids have to balance a bag on their head and this worked really well! The price is a little high for only getting 6 bags, though, in my opinion. It comes with a storage sack, though, that is super handy.
