Great Beginner Set

My son loves his kitchen chemistry set! He wants to get a lab coat and convert the garage into a lab. The experiments foster careful attention to detail and provide a challenge to follow instructions. They're fun, exciting, and safe. The set comes with plenty of mysterious powders and measuring utensils. Our only complaint: Having to get a chicken bone.

We've only done one experiement so far...the flip-flop slime. My 8 year old son likes the kit. He decided to add green food coloring to the slime (which gets a little messy and stains hands). The little cardboard and plastic sink is cute.

Kichen Chemistry Set

We haven't had a chance to play with the set, however my daughter was disappointed that sink was so small. The picture on the box makes it look so much larger than it really is. She also seemed a little intimidated by the instruction manual - which may be why she hasn't begged to use it yet.

An Interesting book

Inside the box is a cardboard "kitchen cabinet" and a plastic "kitchen sink" that goes on top. I wasn't overly impressed, but my 7-year-old daughter loved this. She thought it was very cute. Otherwise, there is only a plastic spoon, some straws, index cards, string, paper clips, and cream of tartar. Basically, they were things we already had around the house. However, the book is excellent. It gave detailed instructions and explanations of each experiment. It also encouraged my daughter to start a labbook and record each experiment. I'd recommend this product for that reason if no other. We spent 2 hours the first day we opened the box doing experiments. It was fun.

My 9 year old son loved this set and it was easy to use. It was very reasonable, and great for a science interested child.
