Nice concept, a bit difficult to snap together

Rating:

While we overall liked this toy, it was difficult to snap the pieces together especially the last few. I had my son do groups of pieces and then snapped the bigger groups together for him.

Ravensburger PuzzleBall - 96 piece Children's Globe

Ravensburger makes great puzzles. This particular puzzle has curved plastic pieces that fit together to make a Globe. My 8 year old son loved making it, and loves to throw it around until it falls apart so that he can make it again. Highly recommended.

Great Toy

I enjoyed putting this together with my 6 year old nephew. However, it required a lot of adult help. He loves to work puzzles. He was thrilled to work on a 3D puzzle.

Great Globe Alternative
Posted 1/5/2008 by Christine

Rating:

We had fun putting this puzzle together, and then we displayed it in my daughter's room. The pictures of the various animals provided a great way to talk about the planet and biodiversity. A nice alternative to globes that focus on political borders.

Fun And High Quality In A World Globe Puzzle
Posted 12/14/2007 by Mary In WA

Rating:

My five year old was given a similar ball-type puzzle last year, and enjoyed putting that one together by herself. I purchased the globe puzzle as the next step up in puzzling and to provide a toy world globe. Each puzzle piece is numbered on the inside, allowing parent and child to sort the pieces numerically before assembly. Alternately, the child can assemble the puzzle through the look and guess method. Assembly is best done with one hand inside the globe, which becomes increasingly difficult near completion. The last piece is popped into place by pressing the globe into the curve of the display stand. One interesting feature of this high quality Ravensburger puzzle is the four-piece puzzle key, which provides a helpful guide during assembly. I think we would enjoy the puzzle more if it were larger scale, however, for enthusiastic puzzlers, this puzzle should be enjoyable.

Educational! These are Christmas gifts so they have not been opened yet. But the appeal of building a globe puzzle is very catchy.
