My rating of Adventurer Globe
Posted 11/5/2007 by Katherine Kenney

Rating:

We really like the globe but it does not spin smoothly on the axis. Perhaps it was damaged? It seems to catch on certain places - a disappointment for me as I remember as a kid spinning the globe and watching all the continents go by. (Note from Fat Brain Toys: We appreciate spinning continents too - simple joy! A replacement globe is being shipped to Ms. Kenney.)

I bought this globe for my 4 year old grandson, whose father travels extensively for work. It is fun to see where daddy is! The globe is highly detailed, accurate and attractive. Today it serves as an introduction to his world. We know that it will grow with him and be useful to him for years.

Adventure Globe Enthusiasticaly Received

My 6 year old granddaughter has been learning some geography. When she opened her gift, she was very excited and began naming places on the globe to my amazement. Her mother and father work with her and feel the globe will enhance her learning. Enough said.

Nice, But Not Strong

The globe itself looks very nice. However, it was broken within 10 minutes. The diameter of the plastic on the holder where it mounts to the top of the globe is too small. It doesn't take much pressure from eager young hands on the globe to break it. Now I will have to drill out a tiny hole and press fit a tiny rod down in to bridge the broken parts together. Just what I need-something else to fix!

Great First Globe

I got this for our 3 1/2 year old who is very curious about space and planets. It is helping him understand how we could be "in space" and "on the planet" at the same time. The simplicity of the design makes it easy to explain continents, etc...though for me, I wouldn't have minded some state deliniations (in USA for example) cuz I have a tough time finding them!!! But this was perfect for him to start learning and exploring. He loves flying his space shuttle around it!

Our 3 year old daughter, who has become interested in continents, really enjoys this globe. It's inexpensive and has nice colorful countries and continents for kids to learn to identify.

I was very pleased with the quality and price of the globe. I like the fact that it is topographical, as that is a map feature I want my students to recognize and use. I would have liked more weight in the base. The base is a very pretty plastic material, which I hope holds up to years of student use.

Adventure Globe Just What We Expected!
Posted 2/7/2007 by Annika's Mom

Rating:

High quality. It exceeds our expectations. I purchased this globe for my daughter's preschool class to use when discussing the world. When I delivered the globe to the classroom, the kids were all very excited as were the teachers. It was used immediately and produced many questions and lots of smiles. The quality of this product is high and it looks exactly like the picture on the site. The graphics and printing are very vibrant and clear. In addition, we were delighted to discover that there are elevation-contours on the surface. My daughter loved touching the globe to feel the mountains. This is a quality educational toy. The base does not look as heavy-duty as an institutional model, but that was expected in a globe intended for home use. Just the same, the base is very nice, a great blue color and appears to be very well made and should provide lots of service to these 3-4 year olds. My daughter was all smiles and so proud that "her globe" was a tremendous hit with the whole class.

This globe is made of great hard plastic that can get tossed around by my 5 year old and not break. Durable. Easy to read Continents.

The globe is very attractive with raised features. My granddaughter is a 2nd grader and was very excited to have this item in her home as she is beginning to study geography.

Great Gift!

I gave this globe as a gift to a homeschooled child. It was perfect for his schoolroom, and he is really excited to start using it. It is colorful and easy to read the labels. It has raised elevation so that the child can feel the mountains and valleys. It's great!
