This was much smaller than I thought. We need a magnifying glass to read the writing on the globe. I think this toy should be intended for a child starting at say age 9? It's ok for a 5 year old, but we were hoping for a standard size globe.

Small, simple and useful ... broken

This globe is small, so be sure to look at the stated size before you order. Personally I like the small size. I like the simplicity of this for discussing general geography with my 5 year old. Unfortunately the stand was broken. (Post note: Fat Brain Toys is sending a replacement globe to us. Thank you for excellent customer service FBT. I will definitely recommend you to others.
Future customers can expect excellent customer service with Fat Brain Toys! Thank you! Jeanne)

This little wonder globe is a lot of fun. I love the way it spins in two directions. The children in our ESL class love to try and find the places their families came from. Well worth the price.

I knew it was small but not that small, but as we thought about it... it is a good place to start for our 3yr old and the cost was appropriate!

The size of this globe was perfect. We have a small house so finding a smaller globe was the perfect fit for us.

I wasn't aware of the size. It's a good product and sturdy, however my daughter uses her magnifying glass to see the states. Small product, but good.

The globe arrived broken off the stand. I glued it back, but it did not hold....so no too happy.

I ordered this globe as our homeschool globe. I was blown away by the price-less than $10 for a globe!! I must now say that I did not read the measurements-I just assumed it would be 'globe-sized'. Needless to say, when it arrived, I was shocked at the dimensions. Then I looked at it and my girls and I explored it. It is an awesome globe. Very well made, very thorough. AND, due to its compact size, it fits perfectly into my cabinet freeing up precious counter space. I am pleased.

It was exactly what was needed for my son's school. He needed a mini globe for class use. The only issue, is that the print is a little hard to read - but the size and detail is perfect.

Gasket holding two halves a little strange but is OK.
Great detail. Rotates two directions which is nice and explaines aforementioned gasket. $10 - WOW! Five stars!

I have a 6 year old soon that has gotten curious about different countries and how far they are in relation to where we (and other members of our family) live. I thought a globe would be a good way to show him, hopefully invoking some learning of those other places in those conversations. I was slightly disappointed with the globe. It has good detail, most countries and oceans are named. I do like that it rotates several directions on the axis. I was expecting a larger globe. With this small globe (it's slightly larger than a softball), it will be hard for us all to sit and get a good look at the same time.

Wonder for kids and adults. Very cute for the office or at home. The spinning of the globe on the equator line makes it unique.
