Describes Item Fairly Accurately
Posted 1/16/2008 by Christopher Nichols

Rating:

My 8 year old son waited outside daily for the UPS truck to arrive. He loves his mummy. He is obsessed with ancient Egypt. He did notice that the item he received was not exactly as pictured. Some of the detail on the coffin was different than the picture.

It was ok. It had nice detail, but it was a much smaller mummy than I had anticipated.

Cool Toy Uncool Cost

My 7 and 3 year old boys and I recently watched the real mummy of King Tut being displayed at a museum in London. They have enjoyed having a "replica" of the sarcophagus (along with a new vocabulary word!). It is only 4 inches tall. I think the cost is high for what you get. I did purchase 2 of them because I thought by boys would really enjoy them. And they do.

One of my grandchildren is a budding Egyptologist. I didn't know where I would find things that would satisfy his hunger for Ancient Egypt.
Thank you for offering products that expand childrens' thinking... The Mummy in Sarcophagus will allow him to not only have something for his shelf but can be used in his role playing as an archeologist.

Egyptian Relect

My 12 year old is designing and building a model pyramid. We ordered the mummy in the Sarcophagus to put inside the pyramid. It will be fabulous. Accurate addition to her structure. She is designing the pyramid so that you can peak inside.

Very Realistic Toy Mummy
Posted 10/19/2006 by Paul Joe Ferguson

Rating:

I purchased this mummy to add to my collection of Plastoy Egyptians including the Ramses chariot. These are great collectors items and are made with high quality detail. Recommended for those who like ancient civilizations items. The mummy can be used with 1/24th or 1/25th scale models & figures.

Awesome Detail!

This is a fantastic mummy! You can pull him out of the sarcophogas and play with him! We love him. The only thing I wish were different is the size. It's only about 4 or 5 inches long. Still it's great fun and very detailed. It would be even more cool if it was like 8- 12 inches long.

Thought is would be a little bigger, but is also fit the size of the child I was buying it for. 8 yrs old. Somewhat fragile but depends on how rough a child may be with toys.

The mummies will be used as party favors. My daughter is turning 12. We are taking her friends to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Egyptian exhibit. The tube of Egyptian toys will be used around a cake I am making in the shape of a pyramid with gold-wrapped candy hidden inside. The toys are perfect for our needs.

Very expensive for something cheap
Posted 9/17/2007 by Jeremy D. Weyrauch

Rating:

When I ordered this product I expected something along the lines of the statue of Anubis and I have a tiny plastic toy. The toy would have been fine, but not for the over $12 it cost. Way too much for what it is.

Information about

Rating:

Our six year old is obsessed with ancient Egypt. He was disappointed for a moment because it was smaller than it looked in the online photo. He got over that quickly. In fact, the small size became an advantage. It can easily be smuggled places in the cargo pockets of his pants! This is a plastic toy, but beautiful and highly detailed. It has passed the inspections of our young Egyptologist. The mummy is firmly affixed inside, and the sarcophagus closes with a satisfying "click". Our boy is pretty rough on toys, but this toy has held up very well. The paint has stayed on. There are only visible scratches despite pretty rough handling.

Grandparent
Posted 11/4/2007 by Carole Vaughn

Rating:

I had just returned from a trip to Egypt and wanted an Egyptian toy for my grandchildren. I decided it was safer to buy from home due to the concern about lead in toys. My grandsons, ages 6 and 8, enjoyed the mummies, however they are hard to open. It would be nice to find a pyramid in a put together type block, big enough and designed to show the construction and for small figures to be used.

This was very detailed. But I do wish the photo had something else in it to help show the scale. It was smaller than I imagined. I plan to use it on a birthday cake for my 8 year old...now seeking pyramid!
