When someone first sees this tiny accordion, there's this certain smile that pops forth. It requires immediate interaction. I want to say that this a product made for kids only, with its tight straps and tiny shape, but it still fits in my hands just fine. I do wish the buttons were a little larger (or perhaps piano-like) or had some kind of beveled or bumped dots to help differentiate between the keys. Also if there was a way to pin down the straps, rather than have them sometimes get stuck in the bellows. I really don't consider this just a simple toy because you can create some really interesting music with it and it's just fun.

Accordian
Posted 6/2/2008 by Jill Ausfeld

Rating:

First off - it works and has decent sound for a cheap set up (paper bellows with a plastic like tape). Well made though. We actually bought them for centerpieces for my father-in-law's 75th birthday party. They were a hit. My kids, 21 and 20, learned and played 'Happy Birthday' and did it for him in front of a crowd of 50 or so. They figured out that it was easier to follow directions that say "in" or "out" as opposed to how it is written so they wrote it out and followed their own directions.

This beginner Accordian was well received by a 7 year old who plays keyboard (2 yrs). She shared it with her dad who is a musician, keyboard, piano, sax and guitar. They had fun with it.

Although this is a toy, it has good sound. Children have a hard time with the buttons, pushing, pulling, etc. But I do not think an accordian would be easy to play anyway. When our grandson said an accordian was all he wanted for his birthday, I found this one at a reasonable price and clear instructions. He was very excited and continues to try to learn.

My grandson is fascinated with music and though he is only 3 has enjoyed this instrument immensely. It is easy for him to handle and the sound is pleasant.

The toy was of good quality, though one of the keys seems to work only sometimes. It is a toy though, and not a true musical instrument so as long as the kids aren't complaining I'm happy.

I bought this for my one-year-old grandson, who is obviously too young to play it, but he is intrigued and pushes the buttons while we squeeze the bellows. He loves it and sings along. This is just what I wanted. The quality is very good and it's light so it will be good for him whenever his motor control allows it. The bellows are squeeky but I expect that is because it is brand new. Love this toy, and so do the rest of the family!

Excellent Shopping Experience!

Great accordian for my 9 year old. Definately a toy/musical instument for an older child. It would be too difficult for a younger child to play. Great sound quality!

The accordion was a huge hit with our 3 and 6 year olds. You can play songs or just make a lot of noise if you choose!

We gave this to our almost 3 year old boy for Christmas. He loves everything musical. He was so excited when he opened it. It didn't take him long to figure it out and when he did he put on a show for everyone. It is fully functional, not just a toy. As he gets older I'm sure he will enjoy learning to play songs. I think it is a great product for a great price. Well worth the money. My husband and I have enjoyed playing with it as well. ;)

The Accordion was very nice and my 5 year old daughter loved it. It is a little hard to use at first but I hope it will get easier.

Accordion madness
Posted 12/10/2009 by Desert Dad

Rating:

Very solid instrument. We try to get our kids well constructed instruments and have collected many pieces for them to play over the last few years and we tend to look for things that will last and sound as good as the real thing. The accordion looks and feels solid, plays beautifully (even for me, and I can't play a note) and the kids were dancing like the ghost of Clifton Chenier himself was wailing away. My 4 year old daughter was playing scales within a few minutes. The only reasons for the 4 star rating is 1. the top strap and snap rub against the bellows and needs to pivot out of the way 2. it needs a strap to be worn, it is kind of heavy for a kid to hold for an extended period of time.

I got this for my 3 year old nephew, I knew it was a little "old" for him but he loved putting on a show with it!
