This jack-in-the-box is a cute toy but it pops open too easily. It frequently opens before it is supposed to in accordance with the music because the latch to keep it shut is not very strong.

This is the cutest Jack in the Box. I wanted to find one for my daughter, just like the one I had. The quality surpassed expectation and we are just thilled.

This toy is very cute and classic looking. It seems to be well made and I like it, personally. My daughter however seems to be either too young to understand it (at age 12 months) or is just not terribly interested in it. The one difficulty is that the clown is hard to push back in and close the lid over without parts of his hat popping out, so young kids need adult help to put the clown back in. If the kid is not in to it, it will make a nice decoration for their room :)

nice enough toy. not as sturdy as we'd hoped: item came without box, but was well-packed. the top is a bit tricky to latch when pushing the little guy back into the box, as the top arrived ever so slightly bent.
all else is as expected and well-liked by our 12 month old.

I love this toy. I was looking for a jack in the box for my daughter, who loves anything with music and is currently obsessed with puppets. Perfect fit. She is still too young (only 9 mos) to work it, but loves when I make it play for her.
The only con to this wonderful old-fashioned product: the clown pops out randomly instead of just at the set time. It doesn't really bother me, but I thought someone else might care.

Old fashioned jack in a box. Pops up reliably every time. Must be operated by adult or older child as requires more strength and coordination than a toddler has.

I have fond memories of playing with a Jack in the Box as a child and distracting my younger siblings with it as our mother prepared dinner. Such a tried and true toy. This one is a disappointment despite the wonderful design. Why? It's the clasp mechanism. It is different than the old metal design that easily pinched fingers badly. (I remember that, too!). This clasp is much safer, but not as easy to close as the older models. Plus, you have to wind the handle for an excessively long time to get the "jack" to pop open. I thought we received a dud until my daughter informed me that the ones she has tested in stores are all the same now. My grandson's initial excitement disappeared and the toy sits on the shelf. It is a beautiful design, but the mechanics need to be fixed. Pass this one up.

My 18 month old loves the product however, impatient as he is he quickly figured out how to open the box from the top instead of waiting for the song to play out.

My son obsolutely loves this jack-in-box. I also really like how it closely resembles old timey jack in the boxes with it's tin box and the traditional pop goes the weasel tune.

Attractive pictures on the box and cute clown. We had one a couple of years ago that I thought popped up randomly during the music. This is very predictable always on "POP" goes the weasel. My one year old likes it, but my 5 and 6 year olds hate the predictability. It's a nice toy overall.

It is extremely difficult to push the clown back in the box. My 3 year old can barely get it back in, let alone get it in without the hat sticking out. It is a cute box, but not very easy to use. The hat of the Jack in the Box gets caught in the lid and therefore pops open too early. I am going to return the item. (Note from Fat Brain Toys: So sorry for the inconvenience of receiving a Jack in the Box that refuses to stay in the box. A replacement was sent.)

This was a big hit for my 2.5 year daughter and we talked about Jack in a Box and the circus too. She loved the colors and the music that went with it. Winding up the toy and anticipating the event was a big thing. Only challenge is the placing of Jack back into the box again and closing it which is a skill she will be practicing again and again. All in all, it was a wonderful surprise! Thank you.

My daughter has wanted a Jack-in-the-Box for some time now. Unfortunately, they are not something that stores generally carry anymore. The Silly Circus one is much cuter, and seems to be all around better. My daughter was thrilled that she finally got her Jack-in-the-Box!!!

Both my boys 3 and 2 really enjoy this gift! The box is colorful, the music is engaging, and my boys laugh every time when the clown pops out. Only drawback is the turning crank itself. It seems pretty cheap, and I wouldn't be surprised if it crashes in the near future. But maybe it won't, and this is otherwise a really fun and simple toy. We love old-fashioned toys like this.

A cuter than the classic jack in the box. My grandaughter loves it, the parents (of course) were not so thrilled. 15 playings in 2 minutes tend to drive the best parents bonkers. the catch is occasionally a little unstable/ won't latch without some help. Otherwise it's a great toy, very colorful and fun.

This was a gift for sentimental reasons only. It was not a gift for a child. A child, yes, but an adult now. My daughter loved this as a little girl and although I saved ALL valuable toys, I could not find this in our treasures, so searched for it and you were the
ONLY company who had them. All this was for a remembrance of 57 years!!

The product is really adorable! I know my son will love it! It is in great condition and seems to be made well and durable (you know how kids can be very rough with their toys!!) I was a little dissapointed with one thing. I thought that when the little guy pops out and you push him back in, he would just stay but instead I noticed that you have to hold him down and then close the lid. Normally I don't think this would be a big deal but my son is young and I'm a little worried that he might have some trouble with that. I think that, for the younger children, it should just stay because I know it will be difficult for them to try and hold him down and then close the lid. Overall, I was pleased with this toy and I'm glad I was able to find Fat Brain Toys.

The Silly Circus Jack in the Box is even cuter in person! I bought it for my granddaughter. Of course I tried it out before I wrapped it. One of the features I really like is that the clown does a nice gentle pop up. It is surprising but not scary.

I loved it. My daughter had a similar one when she was a child. (It teaches a toddler that when someone leaves the room they will come back.) It is a gift for my 1 month old granddaughter. The quality is great. It's colorful. Fun to look at. The song it plays is clear. Has a happy sound. I would highly recommend it

The Jack in the Box is very cute! It is brightly colored and has good detail. It is nice to see that there are still toys out there for young children that do not have batteries. My only complaint is that the lid is a little tricky to put down, and as this is a gift for my 10 month old son to grow into, I feel it will be quite some time till he'd be able to operate it independently.

From a grandfather, for a highly advanced, practically perfect, 17-month old grandSON, this size, the simple mechanics, the pop goes the weasal music, the pleasant, little surprise "gotcha", the NOT SCARY little boy dressed up like a clown popping semi-quietly out of the box, is just the ticket for a toddler. Just as I had hoped for, this toy was not a disappoitment. Highly recommended.

I browsed several Jacks in several stores, and to me this one is the cutest of all. My 2-year old daughter loves it. I don't think she will ever get tired of it. but if she does it's going to be mine.

The toy is adorable. I love the 'Old-Fashionedness" of it - It is reminiscent of a jack-in-the-box I had as a child. My only complaint is, it is very difficult to get the lid to "catch" and nearly impossible to make it stay closed. This is very frustrating.

My 15 month old daughter loves it! She did figure out on that if you play with the switch on top you can make him come out of the box that way, still... she has a blast. Of course she can't turn the handle alone or stuff him in the box -- but I am sure she will eventually. Good quality. I don't think it will break anytime soon (and yes, she has tried to stand on it too).

I wanted to get my daughter a traditional Jack in the Box for her 1st birthday. I was absolutely delighted with my choice. It's a beautiful, old fashioned style tin, just as I remember from my own childhood! A really lovely toy, and my daughter is enthralled with it.
