My 7 year old was given this as a birthday gift. He immediately started with the example builds. withing 30 minutes he was making his own designs, and staying with them to get them to work. It has turned into a family project to try out new patterns. Even when he is not using it, he is talking about ideas to try out.

Great idea!

My 4yr old son loves this toy. He plays with it every couple of days. The only problem we had with this toy was the felt backing came unglued in the corner and started coming off. I called Fat Brain and they called the manufacturer and within a week I was sent replacement backers. These have help up good, so maybe our set was defective. This set is fantastic for helping a child see cause and effect, use their creativity, and problem solve. He loves the shootable pig piece. Even my 8 and 7 yr old girls have played with it and enjoyed it. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and would buy it again.

Great Toy

My 9 year old nephew received this for his birthday and he loves it. He gets a lot of play out of it and the different things he can put together really keep him busy.

Had not seen any kit like this before...my son loves a game online that lets him make a marble run with parts like in this kit. He loves it! We love it because it brings the computer game to hands-on fun. Great quality! Tons of fun!

Wacky Contraption

Bought this for my grandson for Christmas.......he loved it but the frame is flimsy and the velcro doesnt grab like it should....but he keeps trying and is so excited when it all goes right. Needs some improvement but it is a great toy and and i would probably buy it again even with the frustration factor cuz he keeps dragging it out to play with.

Overall nice product for kids who like to see how things work together. It is essentially a vertical, more creative version of the game Mouse Trap. The only problems are that the velcro doesn't always stick well enough so parts move around a bit with each trial run and that not all parts line up well with others, limiting their connectivity. Overall fun toy to start studying step by step mechanics.

Once he started, my grandson wanted to play with it all the time. Later that evening he told someone it was his favorite present--and he alsoi got an Ipod. It's a winner.
