Kids love this!

this is such a fun project for kids. To dig and find the bones- then assemble the skeleton. Plus - it glows in the dark! We had tried another product where you dig for the bones but it was more like a fossil and no glow in the dark. Plus it was easily broken. My 9-yr old was very disappointed in that one. But this brand never disappoints...

Setting: Classroom

Small and hard to work with. Limited activity and learning potential. Not on par with "I Dig Dinosaurs" for use as a classroom project.

Brachiosaurus Fossil Kit
Posted 10/1/2007 by Chris

Our almost 6 year old son likes hammering, dinosaurs and the idea of hunting for fossils. I had to help him at first get the idea of using the chisel at an angle to get the plaster to come away in chunks, but once we got it going and found the first bit of fossil, he was fine. He would disappear into the mudroom for anywhere from 20-30 minutes and hammer away. He did a very nice job clearing away the fossil. It is a bit messy, so a dirty room or the outdoors is necessary. We also did use goggles on him, but I don't know that flying bits of plaster were too much of a problem.

I had never seen anything like this fossil excavation and my 11 yr old grandson absolutely loved it!! It will take a hile for him to accomplish the whole process and it gives him a "special" toy to use while grandma plays dollhouse with the girls!
