i purchased this kit to use with an eight year old. the instructions were clear and she was able to identify parts and assemble the kit with minimal guidance. the end result was satisfying.
the problem was that the plastic eyepiece didn't fit well over the end of the column and was very difficult to put on without damaging the scope.

I bought this set as a gift for an adult. The product is nice, but not very well designed. This toy is nice for a child, but not for a Kaleidoscope fan.

My daughter loved this kit!

My daughter did this kit by herself and was so pleased with the results. She said the tape was a bit hard to use but other than that, she was thrilled with the results. Throughout the day, she would come and show me how she had changed the trinkets in the tube and how that changed everything.

It is very simple to assemble although I had to trim the holographic foil a bit to allow a close fit for the eyepiece. I prefer a sharp image and so I believe that a more polished eyepiece instead of the apparently purposely stippled one included would improve this product.
