I got this to use in my third grade classroom. The kids are fascinated by it and are always asking if they can look at it. It is a great size for moving around the room, but the detail and accuracy are still very good.

There was a crack in the plastic base and there was a white blotch over the former Yugoslavia. A bit hard to turn, but a good size.

The package was falling apart and the globe had come off in two halves. Luckily, all I had to do was simply push the two halves together and it stayed that way. Even though the globe rotated 360 degrees, the two halves usually don't rotate together.
The size is perfect for a desktop item, and the antique look could fool almost anybody. As long as one doesn't let their child play with it, it should stay in good shape.
