We like the quality of this toy - it is sturdy, the colors are bright, and the cannister to hold the extra peices will last. My only issue is that it says it is for ages 3+. Our son is 3 and there is no way he could ever build this on his own. The pieces are sturdy, but not easy to put together. He watches while mom or dad put it together. If you are looking for the child to actually follow the directions and assemble the toy, this is probably better suited for a 6-7 year old.

Superstructs Super Toy

My kids (two 4 yr old boys) liked this a lot. We immediately built the race car shown on the box, with help from papa. After playing with it for a bit and then playing with the rest of the Christmas toy, they came back to the Superstructs and and put a few pieces together. They were very proud of what they had built, though I have no idea what it was!

This is a nice construction set. It reminds me of Tinker Toys with all plastic parts. The pieces are colorful and very inviting. Building with them is fun. The packaging looks nice, but the pieces have to be shifted around to get them back in the round cardboard container. I would like to see this set packaged in a rectangular plastic bin so that pieces are accessible without dumping them all out (although they probably will be anyway). This type of packaging would also be more child- and adult-friendly when it is time to clean up.
