We took the new Scrabble game up to Tahoe for our family vacation, and I found the game to be an improvement in set up for play. I would wish the board to have been put together in a slighty better manner, but given the way it was designed, we took special effort not to stress the board when moving the game, while we were still in play, and needed to stop for a while. My son and I have been playing a lot of the regular Scrabble, and were thrilled with the additional tripple word score spots, and of
course the quadruple word and letter squares. The new board set up, allows for doing double,double scores, and we had some of those. Our grandson was into working for those. We found the games lasted much longer, and of course the scores were much higher. I can't see myself going back to the regular Scrabble after playing with this one. Now the problem is finding enough time to play these high scoring games! I don'tthink the minor design flaws would keep me from recommending the new game, although I did feel that with the added price for the deluxe one, that it would be a little sturdier than it was. I just didn't feel that anything could be done to make Scrabble better, beyond more letters, so they surprised me with this one. I AM surprised that Scrabble doesn't promote this new variety with advertising! Most people I told about it, had never heard of a new one!

More exciting than Scrabble

This version is much better than Scrabble itself, but be prepared for much more lenght games, especially when playing with just two people. With 4, you have a better opportunity for creating words, not just filling in the spaces.

The 2 sides of the board have come apart just in taking it in and out of the box. The plastic hinge is poor quality. The swivel feature doesn't swivel very well. I don't think the board is going to hold up well.

It's a fun game that's a nice deviation from the norm for Scrabble players. We'll save it for holidays and the occasional Sunday afternoon, because it takes a long time to play. Perfect for the Scrabble addict that always wants to play 2 or 3 games. Scoring gets wildly high. The board construction was disappointing.

This is the best version of scrabble to date. I love the board's grid structure so that the tiles dont move when the table is touched, also the moving board is very convenient. Its not quite a rotating board, but it has little wheels on the bottom allowing it to sldie with ease. Overall great product and will provide hours and hours of fun!

The board was warped and did not lay flat in the middle. That made it difficult to play Scrabble. We sent it back. The product was as I remembered. Previously having this edition and aquiring a new one that was of a similar quality was quite pleasing. Many items of years past, when ordered are not up to the former standards and quallity . . . this edition was, and I thank you Fat Brain Toy!
This was passed on as a gift, and the person receiving . . . LOVED IT!!!!!

Nice game. Makes it nice for playing and not having to constantly straighten the letters out. Make sure you put something underneath the board, the ball bearings can scratch your table. Other than that we like the game.

The large board and greater number of letter tiles improves the game. The only disappointment I had was the way the board swivels. I expected it to be on a lazy-susan-type of thing, but instead it moves on little balls. My only concern about that is whether it would scratch the table we were playing on. My grown daughter remarked the same thing when she saw it.

I ordered this Scrabble game for Senior residents to play at an Assisted Liviing facility. My Mom is 89 and is playing Scrabble with her friends almost every day. The residents wanted a rotating board designed so the pieces can't move around. It's been working great.

My sister and I live in different states but, when we're together, it's our tradition to have Scrabble tournaments. We keep a running tab of how many games each of us has won. We've been playing Super Scrabble for a couple of years and love it, but were frustrated by keeping the tiles in place. I love the Deluxe Edition with the ball bearings in the bottom to turn the board and the raised separations between the tiles. She bought one from a catalog and paid about $15 more than I did. She'll be visiting me in July, so I'm ready! Just have to work on my strategy.

Roller bearings were not good. A nice idea, but not well executed. Hinge for the middle of the board looks pretty cheap, don't expect it to last.
Love the raised squares and the expanded area! Makes the games last longer with more options.

The addition of the quad spaces and other premium point spaces with this game makes play more interesting. The increased number of tiles and bigger playing area are good ideas. Play is more difficult though, each game takes quite a bit longer than regular Scrabble. The board is not as well made as the regular Scrabble Deluxe edition. The rotation device was better on the old edition. Tiles must be lifted up to see what point values are underneath. The fold in the center does not allow tiles to lie flat on the board. The wooden letter racks are not as well made as the old edition.

I already own Super Deluxe Scrabble and bought this one to give to my sister as a present. We both love to play Scrabble and after playing the Super Deluxe version during her last visit, agree that regular Scrabble is just not the same. This way I figure we'll have the bigger version at both houses. The board is twice the size and there are more tiles--and doubles of some letters that are only single in the original version (X, Q, Z) giving more flexibility for word building. The raised grid in the Deluxe version helps keep the tiles where they belong and lowers the risk of a jostle rearranging the crossword as it's being built.

Unfortunately, this Scrabble board is rather flimsy. I thought it was the big rotating board on the lazy susan, but it clips together (awkwardly) in the middle, and slides around on ball bearings. It comes apart easily. I love Scrabble (I already have the other edition) and I love the idea of Super Scrabble, but the mechanics of the thing are leading me to give it a low mark.

While playing Scrabble with friends, starting back in the 1960's, I have remarked that I wished the tiles wouldn't slip around and that we could rotate the game board easily. Last month I saw my wish come true when I ordered the Super Scrabble Deluxe Edition. The new version is so much easier and more fun to play.

I like the small metal rollers on the bottom of the board--an improvement over the older Scrabble Deluxe board that I've owned for 10+ years. The letter squares are the same as those that come with the standard Scrabble Deluxe (note: my old Scrabble Deluxe has darker wood stained letters). Overall, great product all-around that will get played tons!

My mother and I have spent years changing the rules of Scrabble to try and spice up the game a bit. This game does just that. Having twice as many tiles and a larger board with the possibility of getting higher scores with the quadruple letter and word score spaces really makes the game much more exciting than traditional Scrabble. In addition the rotating board and raised playing grid makes it easy for everyone playing to view the board right side up during their turn. I'd recommend it to any avid Scrabble player or anyone just looking for something a little different.

The only negative against this product is probably that the super deluxe scrabble should be played by more than one person...otherwise it is perfect for those scrabble lovers or also perfect if you want to spend a long time playing.

My granddaughter and I both love regular scrabble, so I ordered the super deluxe scrabble. It's is really more fun to play. The board is larger, more tiles (now there's 2 x's!). The raised grid is a huge improvement and the turntable works fine. I think you should be careful opening and closing the board, since the hinges are plastic and look a little fragile. Overall very satisfied with purchase.

My boyfriend and I love playing scrabble so this super scrabble deluxe edition was of great interest. My boyfriend especially likes it because I usually beat him but with the new coard and all the extra spaces where you can quadruple words and letters, he was able to beat me! We had a great time playing this quality product! Thanks!

I was disappointed. I thought it would be like my regular Scrabble Board that truly rotates (like a lazy Susan). This board barely rotates. The ball bearings help slightly. The grid could be a bit deeper. I've used the board once so far. What I will probably do is put this board on top of my other one.

We enjoyed our first game with Super Scrabble very much. My only critique is that the letter racks are somewhat flimsy and not on a par with the high quality of the board, the tiles, and the fabric bag. Although we couldn't imagine any improvement for the original game (which we have played for 50 years!) , we got a kick out of having more letters and more spaces on the board.

The games were birthday gifts and we finally got to play the Super Scrabble Game. We did not like it very much. There does not seem to be enough vowels. They increased the amount of other letters, but not the vowels. The board does not rotate easily and we had to put it on top of the old Deluxe Scrabble turntable.

I was under the impression that the game board would be a sturdy one-piece object that rotated on an elevated stand (years ago, when I purchased a deluxe edition of scrabble, this was the case). Instead, I got a very flimsy board that folded in half (and the two halves were separated when I got it). Instead of rotating on a stationary object, the board is on wheels and rolls all over the place. On the positive side, there are alot of letters and more board space, which makes for longer playing time.

We have always loved playing scrabble. Now with the super deluxe version we can play longer and have more word options.
The only thing we were disappointed in is the turntable. We've had deluxe scrabble and it had a raised turntable for easy turning. The super deluxe version has ball barrings on the bottom of the board which you still have to scoot around to turn. It's still a good feature just not as easy as the raised turntable.

The Super Scrabble Deluxe Set is a pleasure. We are truly enjoying playing with more than the "old" basic set we had before. The turn-table is a blessing since the old set had the tiles sliding all over the board everytime we had to turn the board to see what had been played.

This is the way Scrabble was meant to be played! The expanded board makes for extra fun, and the raised grid on the game board allows you to concentrate on your next move instead of consistently having to straighten the tiles. Super Scrabble makes us want to play Scrabble even more often!

I purchased the Super Scrabble Deluxe Edition for a gift for my 15 year old son. While you can make many more words, etc, I didn't like the fact that the board doesn't rotate on a rotator like the old deluxe edition. Nevertheless, it's great if you really like to challenge yourself because it's harder to get the triple word scores since there are more blank spaces between these type of bonuses. But, you can also score quadruple word scores now. The more letters allowed my son to be more creative, thus winning me out by 20 points!!

Why is Super Scrabble better? The raised letter holders on the board keep the letters from moving around. The bigger board and bigger scores are more fun and make the game more challenging. The board spins around so everyone can see for their turn. It's the same game (a fun game to keep the brain working) but bigger and better designed.

Makes Scrabble even more challenging than before, with more spaces, more tiles, more points. Try getting to the quadruple letter and word squares, it's not that easy! For the competitive Scrabbler or for groups (could take too long to play the board for two casual players).

Expanded version of the classic Scrabble word game. More letter tiles, larger game board with more spaces, and Lazy-Susan game board. Good quality materials but some of the tiles had poorly stamped letters. The Lazy-Susan is just some ball bearings molded into the bottom of the plastic game board. Some of the bearings don't rotate in the socket and can scratch wood surfaces. Game board fold down the middle with hinges on both ends that tend to come apart. The plastic seems sturdy enough but I'm betting that the hinges won't last too long. Overall, a good buy for the money.

I have really enjoyed the game. With the board being wider and taller a person can really have fun playing the game. I especially like the double q's, z's and v's.

I like everything about it. However, I wish the manufacturers had made it easier to turn. The manner in which it is turned is not as efficient as the Deluxe Edition of the original Scrabble game.

Scrabble is much more fun with the grids that hold letter tiles in place. With the Deluxe Super Scrabble edition, the board can easily be turned for each player without tiles flying everywhere.

Scrabble has been the game of choice for years in our family. The new Super Scrabble has only increased our love of the game. The raised grids on the board keep tiles in place and the rollers make it easy to move from player to player. Finally, the additional tiles and premium squares increase playing time. Worth the extra $$ !

I am not really a board game fan but I was raised on Scrabble and so were my kids. This enlarged version is a genuine joy to play. More letters, more squares, more doubles, more triples, and, now, quadruple words and letters. My 14 year old grandson and I play frequently and I love hearing him use a word he learned while we were playing. The board turns freely and the grid holds the tiles securely in place (unless the cat jumps on the board). Of course, it takes longer to play but time really does fly when you're having fun. My hat goes off to Winning Moves Games and Hasbro for a "super" makeover of my favorite game.

The new, bigger version of Scrabble is much more fun. My three great-grandchildren and I played it on Thanksgiving night and had a great time. The larger board and extra tiles made a big difference in how interesting the game can be.

We love Scrabble, but this version is not what we had hoped. The board is aesthetically unappealing; the construction is shoddy. (The background paper doesn't even line up with the boxes); the seam in the middle is problematic; and the turning capability is a laugh. The turntable regular Scrabble we have it great. This is just nothing like the original game. And even the play is irritating. About the only thing we could say about it is that we can see how this would be better for children. There are endless opportunities for play. We played for about an hour and then put it away and chalked it off as a poor purchase. (Note from Fat Brain Toys: The customer was sent a replacement board. Poor construction is not typical of this item.)

This latest version of scrabble has small metal balls underneath the board to rotate the board around the table. It does seem to move the board more smoothly than the older movable boards. I would imagine due to the size of the board, with the additional letters and "quad" spaces, there is no place on the board where it lists the number of each letter in the game. I miss that from other boards. Very enjoyable (and lengthy) game.

This is not what I consider a deluxe edition. The raised tile holders are worth the price, however. This board has the border removed so that there is no information about the quantity of each letter. The left side of the board is misaligned and the colored squares do not coincide with the colored squares on the right side (toward the center of the board). The "turntable" is not a turntable. Your can slide the board around, but it's sitting on very tiny ball bearings and they do not lift the board enough to turn it, so you are really just scooting it around.

Super Scrabble Deluxe is a welcome upgrade to an old favorite. If you enjoyed scrabble, this game is well worth the fare. I recommend the Deluxe Edition, as the raised grid is invaluable, especially with the larger playing surface.
