Uncle Wiggily Game Critique

I had an Uncle Wiggily game about 50 or so years ago which we played often. I liked it then & since my grandsons like games(ages 5&9) I was sure they would like it, so I bought it & they do play it & like it. I'm gennerally pleased with the high quality of your Uncle Wiggily game. I do have two suggestions. 1) The rabbit characters are made of cardboard in a light plastic base & are easily bounced around. Something more substantial would definitely be an improvement. The originals were metal. 2)The original game had red cards as well as white cards. They added more drama to the game by putting more more obstacles & backtracks in Uncle Wiggily's way. That's my 2 cents worth of advice. We do enjoy the game & the board is very high quality. Bob

This is a simple game that can engage the whole family. My daughter is only 3 and it is her first exposure to a board game but she loves it.

Enjoyable game. The closet to Candy Land that I've found. The poems can be a bit too long but you can skip the poems and utilize the numbers. I do like the counting aspect though. It's good practice for young children in a fun way! I wish that there were more cards that made you move backwards and stuff. It would make the game more exciting. I'm still partial to Candy Land but Ungle Wiggily is a good addition. I

I ordered this as a nostalgia trip as it was something that was out when I was a child long, looooong ago. Product seems to be well made, durable. We've only played it once. The 5 year old enjoyed it much and won. The 4 year old couldn't sit still long enough to get much out of it. I think we'll try it this weekend with the other 2 kindergarten grandchildren. I suspect 3 - 5 yr. olds could do pretty well with it. Good counting, learning tool.

Uncle Wiggley Game

It was fun to play with my grandchildren, 5 and 7. One problem: The Uncle Wiggley figures made of cardboard are quite large and too easy to tip over when trying to move them in proximity with one another. Smaller plastic pieces would eliminate some of the frustration with these pieces.

I bought this for a Christmas gift, so I haven't yet seen children using it. I do remember playing it as a child and think it will be a delightful first board game.

The children enjoy the new Ungle Wiggily game; however, Grandpa is a bit disappointed, as it is not the same as the original game. We still have that game, and the new version is shorter and geared for younger children. It is not only shorter in length, it also eliminates some of the original traps and bonus moves. Having said that, the grand-children are happy with it. We'll see if that remains true when they come to our home and play the original again.
