Great concept

I'm a big fan of the concept behind zolotopia. The shapes, textures and colors are very creative and inspiring, leading to some interesting and surprising creations! My only complaint s that the pieces don't fit together as securely as one would hope, necessitating a kid gloves approach in building and subsequent transport of the new creations. It also makes playing with the creation somewhat dicey. My generation made things from tinker toys and Legos which have a sturdiness that the zolotopia is lacking.
That said, I would definitely recommend it as it is an inspiring product.

Mr. Potatohead meets Salvadore Dali

I bought this for my 14 and 11 year-olds as interactive decoration for a remodeled basement (teenage hangout). The kids love it, their friends love it, their creations looks funky on the shelves, and it's time spent not playing video games. I'm happy.

Zolotopia is unlike any other toy

This game/activity has proved to be a great purchase. It has endless places for the imagination to go. My 5 year old and 2-1/2 year old have a curious time working together to create one-of-a-kind sculptures. And, they can actually "see" things in their creations. The latest one was a 4-legged "camera" that could stand up by itself. Who knew?

I bought this toy as an introduction to sculpture in my elementary school art class. The children can work alone or together on their creation. Next, we can use the sculptures to launch a drawing or painting lesson on composition.
We L O V E it!

It is an awesome toy. Our grand daughter loves it but not as much as all the grown ups love to play with it. It's an inspired toy!!

My 3 kids and I are all having a blast with this toy. It is so much fun to create crazy creatures and funky towers with all the different pieces. My kids are 3, 6, and 8 and they all loved it. It came in a nice container to hold all the pieces, a very big bonus. I would have given 5 stars except for the fact that the game part of the toy was hard to understand, but the kids didn't care, they made up their own.

I gave it to my 9 year old niece and though she was intimidated with it ay first (she has never had anything like it before) I was so excited by it that I began playing with it my self and soon all four girls in the room were making lots of creatures full of imagination and lots of noise.

These pieces and parts make great creatures and are tons of fun to fit together in myriad designs. As for the game element, my 4-year-old neice had a hard time discerning the rules and taking the time to sort through the pieces to find the right ones for the game. She had much more fun just rifling through the bag and making "people" on her own. The Pre-Zolo is just a bit too young and easy for her (I got that for her younger sister), but this is something she will get to grow into...if she can manage to keep all the parts together. I will likely get one of these for my own daughter when she is old enough because even at 2 she had a great time making "baby dolls" and carrying them around.

Nice Concept

My 6 year old daughter says it is a "fabulous" product. She hasn't played with it much. She's got an artsy side. I think she will come back to Zolotopia if I (or another friend) play with it alongside her.

Ceative Game

This toy is very open ended, promotes creativity and language growth. I can see classroom extensions as drawing their sculpture and creative writing activities. I have 2 children, one is very creative and loves to build, however playing games are not her favorite. My son enjoys order, numbers, puzzles and games, but not into construction toys. This game brought out the best in both, while devoloping skills they usually avoid. They also are learning great vocabulary. This toy will be around for a long time in our house.

I bought this to use as part of a team building exercise for adults -- giving them random pieces and asking them to use them all in their design.
