Catapult History:
From times of ancient Greeks and Romans through medieval times, catapults provide tactical advantage on the battlefield. The simplest form - a projectile placed in a cup or spoon at the end of a throwing arm. The arm power was increased by twisted ropes of hair or fibers. When fired, the arm would swing up and slam into a stopping block, causing the entire catapult to buck, and sending the payload on its way.

Trebuchet History:
The trebuchet was the ultimate artillery weapon of its time and the most highly-evolved catapult type weapon. It could be built on location, and was able to hurl carved stone balls weighing up to 300 pounds at enemy fortifications. The trebuchet could be fired from a safe distance, outside the range of its victim's arrows.
