As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.

NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 8 years of age.

Identified Special Needs Challenges:
Aspergers
"We used this experiment kit to foster the relationship between our granddaughter that has Aspergers, and her younger sister. The joint problem solving and fun activities helped them work as a team. In addition, the older granddaughter took on a caregiver and teacher role for her little sister. Great to witness and foster. Thank you."

Cool kit to get my kids thinking.

My 7 year old boys and I opened it. And had alot of fun with the first experiments we tried. Which got me remembering neat experiments from my childhood. It also got my boys thinking about other things and how they work, trying different things and figuring out why. The instructions in the kit could be a little bit better written. Measurements, sizes are sometimes vague. For instance we tried the quicksand but our mixing tray was too big. We were left with a very wet mess.

we purchased this as a gift for our neice. as a scientist, i thought this would be a good gift for her, and she really enjoys it. there are a lot of different "experiments" included that she can perform, some with the help of her parents.
