Tumbling toys inspired by a child at the zoo. Two sisters (a fashion designer and an architect) created Bobles animals, and modern child’s play hasn’t been the same since.
Made in Denmark, these children's tumbling toys started from geometric forms, transformed into animals, then were proportioned to child-size for usable child’s furniture or creative play.
A perfect choice for inspiring imagination and the physical development of young children. Kids love to play pretend with these ride on animal friends, roll and stack, balance and jump, seesaw... all the while developing fluidity of motion, balance, posture, muscle strength, coordination, balance, refining large motor skills and encouraging neurodevelopment.
Put your hand on the satiny smooth, incredibly dense surface of a bi-colored Bobles tumbling animal toy, and you know, Bobles are active toys with serious style. No matter what antics your kids come up with, they’ll handle the roughhousing and look great doing it.

Place a small child in the curve between the legs of the elephant. The elephant has a rocking function where the child is challenged and stimulated while sitting. Later on, the child can stand on top of the elephant’s feet, which challenges the child’s balance while standing. The elephant is also good to lie across, both when you lie flat on your stomach and on your back. Purely functional Bobles Elephant is a great chair/stool to sit on both for the child and their parents. To have more tumbling animals – 4, 8 or 15 different tumbling animals together provides enormous opportunities for physical development and motor skills.
We purchased this for the indoor play area that our daughters Montessori school is creating. When the elephant arrived at our house our daughter went bonkers over it. She wouldn't eat dinner because she was obsessed with the elephant. The teachers were thrilled to receive it and the toddlers have loved playing on it. The climb all over it, turn it over and rock on it, step on it, etc - I love that it invokes curiousity and gets their imaginations going. The price is steep but the kids love it so it's worth the money. It's also the perfect size for the children in her class ranging from 21mos to 2.5 years old.
Review of Bobles Tumbling Elephant
Bought this for my ten month old to climb on and because I thought it looked like fun. It isn't sturdy enough for her to play on without me holding it in place, but I expected this (it's really meant for older children). My daughter loves to play peekaboo with me between the "legs" of the elephant and she also enjoys finding toys that I hide under there. Really, it's just what I was hoping it would be. The only negative is the price (but fatbrain did have the best price I could find online).
Although my daughter is younger than the recommended age, she likes the elephant. She is starting to pull herself up on things and it is the perfect height for her to pull herself up-and wow does it make her proud!!! I like that it fits with the contempo decor of our home.
I like the design, and the durability of the foam elephant. It does not handle teeth marks that well, or scratches. And honestly, it was a bit smaller than I expected. But it's a fun piece of furniture, and gives my one year old son a lot to explore. Not convinced it's worth the high price--- but we'll see how much he enjoys it as he gets older.
