The concept of this game is simple, a bit like Blokus. Set up is quick and easy and a game for two takes about 1/2 hour. At first it seems effortless, but as you begin to play, it is a challenge to see all the patterns that the tiles make. My son and I love this game.

Challenging at first

We discovered this game on a rainy day while on vacation. DC was definitely a challenge at first-just figuring out what the game was about-but a fun challenge. It requires quite abit of analytical skills and ability to 'see' multiple forms at the same time. And, it requires decision making whether to focus on getting points yourself or preventing the other player from getting points. The last part of the game-just mopping up, was less interesting than expected. Playing with 2 teams is not as easy to do-if the members of a team whisper back & forth loud enough to hear each other-the other team can hear the strategy discussed. Whether playing with 2 or 4 people-we found a two minute timer necessary. We'd prefer a game that has the option for 4 players-2 teams or not. But, all in all, a fun game so we bought it once we got home.

This game challenges the player to find selected patterns from a famous -thousands year old "flower of life." You score points by placing when alternating turns-one of two types of pieces on the board. The more complex the pattern you complete- the higher the score you earn. You must decide to pursue your symbol- or block your opponent's attempts. The game presents many possibilities in the first half of the game with your intentions not so easily discovered by your opponent-similar to chess. However, as the game advances away from the center of the board- each players moves become fairly transparent- the moves become a bit repetitive- and the game loses excitement.
