This book will put you behind the wheel if Legos are up your alley. Not the typical how-to-assemble format. This Lego book shows you cover to cover, hundreds of photographs of amazing Lego creations. Just the impetus to get your creativity careening full speed ahead.
The great thing is that the hundreds of odd-and-ends Lego parts you’ve accumulated in mass will be put to new use!
What happens if you don’t have the exact piece you need- well, you improvise of course! Some of the variations you create will be better than what’s pictured, and when you see that – your motivation will be even higher for improving on the standard build!
This book shows innovative builds on tons of subjects: vehicles of all makes and sizes, houses and stations and barns, bridges and gardens, so many space creatures and objects your head may go into orbit, castles, traps, dragons, other medieval stuff, piratey adventure builds, islands, jungles, animals, robots, desk organizers, picture frames, 3D mosaics, even board games, way more than we have room to mention here.
You’ll also enjoy the “Meet the Lego Builder” interviews tucked throughout for inspiration, tips & tricks, and surprising revelations.

As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 0 years of age.
Review for The LEGO Ideas Book
Posted 12/18/2012 by Karma
I purchased the Lego Ideas Book for my seven year old grandson who spends hours building and inventing new inventions and objects with Legos. He follow directions to a tee and has created some pretty amazing things with Lego. I thought this book would be really fun for him and encourage new shapes and inventions. The book is hardback, about an 1 1/2 inches thick and well done, except for the fact that I was looking at a page by page ad for the Lego theme toys they have in the stores now. There was not one single page dedicated to using the Legos already in the home. All the pages and ideas were based on purchasing a theme Lego set. I was greatly disappointed and returned the book. Usually each Lego set will come with it's own set of instructions to create the items pictured on the box. To me, it was just a high priced book to get one to buy more theme Lego sets. So sad.
If you are looking for step-by-step Lego building instructions - this is not your book. If you require that the builds you make look exactly and completely like those pictured in this book - you will need to buy more Legos. BUT if you find value in general building concepts and creatively improvising with the Legos that you already own - then, Eureka! You're onto something.

Lego Ideas Book which unfortunately my Grandson already had BUT.....
Posted 11/21/2012 by Barbara Dickett
Our Grandson already had the Lego Idea Book & he loves it. It is a pleasure to see him create rather then do electronic games. The product is not only imaginative but also stimulates creativity! Great job Brain Toys in coming up with a product and products that make one think and do rather then just sit!
