The 100 gram jar makes over 2.5 gallons of snow!
As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 3 years of age.

"I assisted my son with creating the snow. I put 1/4 teaspoon in a bowl with 4 oz of water and let him stir until it created the snow. He loved stirring it. The fact that he did it by stirring made him smile. I put it in my hand and asked him to give me high five so when he felt it he felt the texture of it and thought it strange. But because it won't stick so much to you it was useful for us in that he didn't freak out. He really enjoyed it. Definitely requires the supervision of an adult."
Identified Special Needs Challenges: Autism
"I noted that my son's early intervention classes always had tactile and sensory components. Often autistic children are oversensitized or undersensitized to various sensations and avoid using them. In some ways, the play allows them to learn or compensate. My son normally would not play with something that felt like this snow felt. He was willing because he was so excited about playing with snow. He played for a long time with it, which is saying a lot of a kid that won't even eat various tasty snacks because of the texture picking it up. This product fosters so much more than imagination. I would recommend it to anyone with a child. It was fun for me to watch them play and we still have loads in that tiny jar we bought."
This product will last you a LONG time. It's so cool to use and is definitely makes for a great gift for any child. I like that it stays cool for days and lasts! My 2 year old autistic son has issues with texture so I purchased this with the hope of exposing him to something new that is simple for him to create. He LOVED it. It can be messy but it doesn't again and cleans up easy with a wet rag. Highly recommend it.
Super fun, if a bit messy

We purchased this as a summer activity. We included this in our weather unit with the kids. The kids were excited about playing with snow. It doesn't feel like snow, but they enjoyed it anyway. I was unsure how much to mix and started at the smallest increment and worked my way up. The 8 oz of water worked well for small kitchen bowls and children stirring. I started the stirring and handed it to them to finish once a certain level of "slush" was formed. My children would not have patience for the entire length of stirring (older children might). They played for a long while with it and we saved most of it in a ziplock bag for later (with nearly a full container of the mix still available for use). A note to the parents: place a plastic table cloth on the table and a drop cloth or newspapers on your floor prior to play. This stuff takes forever to clean up and a little prep goes a long way to making your experience as fun as theirs. We definitely will use this again! The tactile sensation was awesome for a preschooler and our autistic son. It's fun and educational value are definitely worth the small price we paid for the product.
We were visiting relatives in the South for the holidays and this was a fun activity for the kids and grandparents to do. They loved having a little science experiment to do that created the feeling of snow.
