Welcome to the Great Outdoors!
Camp is a game where both children & adults can play & learn fun facts about the great outdoors. The game is designed to grow with the player, starting at level one questions, which are primarily identification of animals. As the players increase in their knowledge about the outdoors, they grow into the higher level questions. A fun & educational game where parents & children can play against each other to get to Camp first.
Each player picks a level card (level one being the easiest and level four being the hardest). The idea being that if you have a family with different aged children, say a 6 year old, a 12 year old, Mom and Dad and Grandparent, they all can play together at the level they choose. The object of the game is to get back to Camp first. Along the way to Camp, if your pawn lands on a green set of foot prints, you have to answer a Camp question card according to your level. If you answer the question correctly, you get to roll again. During the game, if you encounter the "Go to Clubhouse" space, you jump forward to the clubhouse and read a fun fact for all to hear. This is a good thing in the first half of the game; however, in the second half of the game, it takes you backwards. One more twist to the game is that hidden inside the Camp questions are 15 special questions with a compass icon on them. If you draw one of these questions and answer it correctly, you get awarded the compass card. This card enables you to use the short cut to Camp; however, there is only one compass card, so if someone else gets another of the 15 compass icon cards and answers the question correctly, they can take the compass card away.

I bought this as a gift and only played once. The higher levels of questions are very challenging, so I imagine you can play this many times. We changed the game play a bit so that we would ask more questions. It was more fun for all of us, adults, a 7 and 6 year old. The kids loved it and game play went quickly.

Fun to play.... great for each level/age of player... perhaps age recomendations would make easier for the non-decisive players to decide or for those little guys who want to be just like their big brother.

I was very impressed with this game. I wanted to find a board game that would be fun for both the children and adults of the family. My three year old daughter asked to play with the game Christmas morning, and she enjoyed it very much. After we played the game the first time, she immediately requested to play again. We ended up playing three times, before she went back to the more usually Christmas morning fair; dolls, etc.
The questions on the cards are very well written in the youngest catagory and challenging for adults. I think it would be beneficial if your child already had a strong nature background. we have tried to encourage interest in animals and their identificaion in our daughter, and it served he well in identifying animals in the pictures on the cards. The game is quick, and not too tedeous for young players. We look forward to playing this with both our daughters as they grow up.
