Traverse is a great combination of Chinese checkers, chess and checkers. The game is simple enough to start right away, but has advanced rule variations that make the game challenging. The moves are much easier to learn than chess. Each game can be played in less than 20 minutes. A highly recommended game for families and people of all ages.

What drew me to this game was it's discription, "more fun than checkers, easier to learn than chess." My 5 year old son is very spatial and loves checkers, blockus, is learning chess. Traverse is a really fun addition to game night. It definitely lives up to its claim. Each differently shaped piece in the game, moves only in specific directions. The game is pretty simple, move all your pieces to the opposite side of the board. My son has mastered the game much faster than I. I would recommend this game to anyone who has a child who loves this type of spatial challenge.
