Four highly sensible reasons for choosing Sensory Balls for your child:
Sensory Balls enhance sensory stimulation:
When children hold a sensory ball, they appreciate the nubbly texture. When they squeeze one, they can feel the rubber stretch and contract beneath their fingertips. Sensory balls are effective in massage stimulation. Softly rolling textured sensory balls on a child’s back or feet heightens sensory awareness. Sensory balls are favored by teething babies who love to chew on safe, sensory balls.
Sensory Balls enhance gross motor skills:
From their first months to years later children improve both fine and gross motor skills with sensory balls. Infants crawl toward sensory balls enhancing eye/hand coordination, use muscles to reach a sensory ball, then grasp and hold on tight! As children grow, they enthusiastically squeeze, roll, throw and kick sensory balls.
Sensory Balls enhance socialization:
Young children interact with others as they roll a sensory ball across the floor to mom and dad, grandpa or grandma. Young children eagerly toss sensory balls to playmates.
Sensory Balls enhance visual and perceptual skills:
Four vivid colors capture child interest. Unique projections peak visual curiosity.

As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.

 |
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 1 years of age.

Identified Special Needs Challenges:
Developmental Delay,
Sensory Integration Disorder
"This is a good sensory integration tool. We use it as a back rub tool that helps promote calmness and regulation for the child. She also likes to feel the soft spines on the balls and she gently rubs the ball on her face and legs. It also helps with motor skills in throwing into a big basket or to an adult."
Identified Special Needs Challenges:
Apraxia,
ADD/ADHD,
Aspergers,

"I specifically choose the Sensory Balls for their neurodevelopmental applications in individualized HANDLE programs. "
Identified Special Needs Challenges:
Autism
"Another toy to be thrown and rolled to child. Sensory Balls can be played with by different family members and a child for interaction."
Identified Special Needs Challenges:
Cerebral Palsy,
Vision Impairment
"These balls are just the right size and texture for small or clumsy hands. I purchased them so that children with cerebral palsy can practice shooting into a low basketball net. They will work perfectly because they're easy to grasp, fairly light, and don't bounce (therefore easy to retrieve). They're also washable, and as far as I can tell do not have any holes and won't get water inside (haven't tested this hypothesis yet, though)."

Great product - will grow with baby

We've had the sensory balls for a couple of weeks now and we've used them for purposeful play as well as just left them on the play-mat for self discovery. My son is just on 8 months and is really liking the balls. They roll well so he simply loves crawling after them and chasing them; we sit and show him bouncing and rolling back and forth between us and he also explores them on his own. He really loves the spiky texture, I've watched him squeezing them with two hands, resting his face on them as well as practising his 'pincher grip' pulling at the spikes! They're soft enough that even his little hands can squeeze them but they'll definitely grow with him. I'm looking forward to hosting my Mothers group and seeing what all the other babies do with them !

My son won a ball like this at Peter Piper. My 6 month old was obsessed with the ball and wouldn't put it down but I knew it was made of yucky materials so I didn't want her chewing on it. I immediately found these balls on Fat Brain and ordered them because they were just like the other. She has loved having them, they are her favorite toys!

My Great Grandson 8 months old loves these nobbly balls I roll it to him and he sort of pushes it back after he chews on it. It was a good buy.
