Our daughter was impressed with the quality of this notebook, and it held her attention during the frenzy of Christmas morning. Nice sturdy pages, well designed, and encourages exploration of the natural world.

It is a beautiful notebook and my children are so excited to use it. They thanked me several times for buying it for them. My ten year old has already written a friend from the stationary in the back and my eight year old already has a specimen in the specimen pouch.

It is a great notebook for kids. The only problem I had with this book was the condition it arrived through the mail. Both books were bent at the edges and I had to lay them between books to make them straighten out. But the contents of the book was what I was looking for.

Lots of space for recording observations and includes collection envelopes and also stationary. Mainly just a blank book. Great for writing but was disappointed didn't have suggestions for observing or "getting started" ideas since it is to encourage children to write. I was mainly drawn to illustrations and the idea of encouraging writing.

This book is truly special. It contains beautiful illustrations, and pretty envelopes in which to collect specimens. I bought it for a little girl who is a budding naturalist. Highly recommended!
