The 80 MODELS is the top of the range in the engineering series and it is the most advanced one. It brings together a broad range of themes and features some very impressive models. The "supercars" theme includes 4 amazing vehicles, a formula one car, an off-roader, a trailer and a combine harvester. The "cranes" theme includes 4 fully functional cranes, a construction crane, a rotating lever crane, a lift and a loader. The "mobile cranes" theme takes modelling to extreme levels and includes several types of forklifts.
Many of these models can easily be modified to become operable with the bonus 3V engino geared motor and children can use their imagination to discover ways to optimise such modifications. The motor has a double-action switch and works with 2 AA batteries (not included). The set contains detailed instructions for 12 models and a motorized dinobot, an amazing huge contraption that works with a crank action to move the mouth and the tail of the dinosaur. Instructions for other models can be dowloaded from the engino´s website.

Fascinating out of the box, surpasses Legos and Kinex for learning physics, engineering, etc.
Included project book is sufficient, but the online website has much more for additional guidance and inspiration.

Got this for Son's fifth birthday. He enjoys playing with it and can follow the directions to put together the models listed in the included booklet, but sometimes needs adult help to make sure he has everything in the right place before moving on from a step with a more complex sub-assembly. The biggest barrier to him enjoying it has been his six and a half year old brother's desire to 'help' him.

Engino Series 80 is a good investment for a young mind

I purchased the set for my six year old grandson. He was delighted to see the pieces were bigger than Lego blocks and provided for movement. The detail plans are clearly illustrated. He assembled the crane with only a few helpful hints from adults.
