We have a very mechanically-oriented 5-year old and Enginos are his favorite toy. We bought the first set for him this past Christmas and he asks for more every chance he gets. He likes Enginos MUCH more than Legos or other "building toys" because of the mechanical aspect, which is well within reach of his capabilities. The activity books are too advanced for him right now but he still asks to read them at story time and has gotten something out of them.
I highly recommend this entire line to any parent whose child loves to build and wants to know how things work. We have bought a few sets as presents and the feedback is overwhelmingly positive.
