"It is a great toy. I know he will learn and this will benefit him. Just make it more grandmother friendly. "

"For my son, Snap Circuits was a real self-esteem booster. He always feels different and unable to keep up with things that interest other children his age (10 years). He felt like this was something even older children like and he could still be successful. Learning to sequence and follow directions are difficult and usually not enjoyable for him. The building steps were in picture form, so his reading delays/disabilities didn't get in the way. They were also a minimum of steps so he didn't lose his way. Cause and affect are also taught with Snap Circuits. If he doesn't get the circuit together the right way, it doesn't work. Yet correcting the mistake is simple and doesn't require him to start all over (that would be so frustrating). One other thing Snap Circuits helps with is spatial planning. Everything is built on a coordinate grid that matches the directions. It is so neat to see him working on these areas of weakness, without getting frustrated."

Bought for 8 year old grandson. It is fabulous toy. Able to demonstrate how electrical circuits work and create different apparatus. This best part is the boy actually put down the video game console (I'm am not a fan as I fail to see the value of becoming good at video games) to play with this.

My six year old son loves this! While we've only completed a few of the projects from the instruction guide since his birthday a week ago, he has been able to create his own contraptions--right now he is still interested in the fan he engineered to fly up to the ceiling! Very cool educational toy!

The eight year old boy is plotting how to best use the motion detector option. Good for him! Lots of lovely things to make, and NONE of them involve looking at a screen.

This is an excellent way to introduce circuitry to a 2nd grader. It makes them learn to follow directions and learn about different electric components to make something work (ie. lights, horn, etc..)
