My 10 year old is always making things from items around the house. My husband suggested we buy him an erector set. We couldn't be more pleased! Our son is making so many neat things that actually move with motors! This erector set is so different than the ones we grew up with. The technology is just amazing! Our son is hardly paying any attention to his video games and computer - he's having a ball with this! I think we might have a future engineer in the family.

Product seems to be very well made though as a one time owner of
the Gilbert sets of the '50's, I was a bit disappointed in soem of the
components. I would have been happier had it been made in the USA.
Enrichment through Erector Sets

I am a teacher with Lincoln Public Schools and bought the erector sets to use as enrichment with some of my visual learners. These sets are perfect for this application because the manuals literally have one word, "scale. It is rewarding for these kids to use a manual to build something very complex. Needless to say, it is also excellent for fine motor skills.

Good ideas of items to build. Kids need to be careful to look at which hole the arrow point to or it'll be off. Gives good design principles for kids. un to see the result. Not so fun to dismantle. The case is great. He'll get lots of use out of it if I can get him to take it apart for the next project.
