Just add bedsheets for endless fun!
Crazy Fort is powered by a child's imagination. A single Crazy Fort Kit contains 25 geometrically precise balls and 44 sticks that connect to create a multitude of possible play structures. Simply throw a bed sheet over top and watch their creativity flourish. A rocket today, an undiscovered cave tomorrow, a princess castle one day and a wild horse in a corral next week are all possible with Crazy Forts. Toys that promote collaborative play between boys and girls are few and far between. The more they have, the better it gets as multiple kit structures are even more impressive.

As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.

NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 5 years of age.

Product review of Crazy Forts! - 69 Pieces
Posted 12/27/2011 by Linda Palumbo

Rating:

My two granddaughters, 3 and 5, love to play in tents--usually pillows over which blankets have been thrown. This gives them a chance to have a more solid "roof" over their heads, allowing a much more enjoyable experience for them.

Really cool and fun. My son loves making forts and plays in it alot. Only problem is that it's small when assembled.

Crazy Forts - GREAT!
Posted 2/28/2011 by Sasha Sicurella

Rating:

Very fun and open-ended building set.
Children play with Crazy Forts during a weekly workshop at a contemporary arts center. Not only do they build fort-like structures, but the children have used the pieces to make abstract sculptures and other artistic forms.
Life-sized quality makes this a very engaging product for kids.

Great fun for mom and dad but too complicated for 3yo

We found a similar item on Fat Brain's web site and ithe reviews said it was well rated for 3 year olds. The original item was no long being carried and this was the replacement item so we didn't research very much before buying. My 3 year old son is really into imaginary play and building forts with pillows and blankets. We thought this would be the perfect toy but he doesn't have the patience yet to put things this complicated together. With some difficulty, I'm embarrassed to say, my husband and I built the space ship on the box after he received it for Christmas. The holes on the balls vary so you have to make sure the balls are lined up correctly to get the correct angle. My 3 year old played with the space ship for a day or two before it got knocked down by the dog and our 1 year old. He hasn't played with it since Christmas. Maybe there are too many other new toys to grab his attention. We will put this one away until he is a little older and interested in building things.
