Bought this as a birthday gift for a 7-year-old girl. My daughter, almost 7, picked it out and was enthralled with it. The birthday girl was excited about it and her mom liked it because it would involve her attention for a long time. I have noticed girls getting into beads and jewelry at a young age, and this item is a plus if your child is creative and likes to create her own items. I also really liked that there was a fun case to keep everything in.
