Sturdy Birdy - Roll the dice! Strike a pose! Find the perfect balance!
Reggie the Pigeon dreams of life in the circus as a high wire acrobat. (Sadly, Reggie's flight abilities have never taken off.)
Reggie needs your help to perfect 12 poses to land the high wire balancing, birdseed providing job he's always dreamed of.
To do that players must master 12 unique poses and be the first to make it to the end of the line. Ahh... 12 poses can't be so tough you say. Wait until you add counting spectators, flapping wings and a few choruses of "tweety, tweet, tweet"!
Unlike any other game you’ve ever seen, Sturdy Birdy challenges your child on a physical level while encouraging counting skills, self-esteem and more!
Expect increased balance, coordination, core strength, and lift to the corners of lips.

As one of the top online toy retailers, we have access to unprecendented quantities of product review data. One of the key ways that we use this data is by associating our products to the specific ages and genders of the kids who are playing with them. Whereas most retailers must rely upon manufacturer suggested ages (i.e. 3+), we take actual customer usage and share it with you here so that you can choose the perfect toy or game.
But how does this help me? You can use these graphs as a general measure of it's appropriateness for a given age and gender. While this information is generally accurate, it should not be used as an absolute answer. For instance, many dinosaur toys are purchased for boys, however, that doesn't mean that it's inappropriate for a girl who happens to like dinosaurs.

 |
NOTE: The orange color in the charts above indicate ages that are LESS than the manufacturer suggested age. Please purchase at your discretion if your child is younger than 5 years of age.

Identified Special Needs Challenges:
Down Syndrome
"The Sturdy Birdy game can be adapted to make it easier. I thought it would be a great game because you need to use core muscles to be able to balance. My grandson really seems to enjoy the game with modifications to fit his abilities. "
Identified Special Needs Challenges:
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
"This game is very adaptable for children with shorter attention spans and motor skill involved can be adapted for what the child is able. It is really a fun game to play together and be silly."

Loved it - exactly as described. Purchased for niece's 5th birthday. Produced lots of giggles (from 5-yr old and adults) as all tried to complete poses without falling. Does require ability to balance - used simpler version of game for 5 yr old and she did fine.

Challenging Game

I got this for my 4YO for Christmas, primarily because I thought it would be a fun way to work on her balance and coordination. We played it once, with 3 other children. The other three children, 5, 6, and 7, all really enjoyed the game, and proving how well they could perform the tasks. There were a lot of laughs. My 4YO did not enjoy it quite as much, probably b/c she is not as physically capable of performing the poses as the other kids. But we plan on pulling it out with just the family and trying the game again, so she can get better. The only negative about the game was that if one of the players was really good, their turn could last a couple of minutes, and the other kids would begin to lose interest. The next time we play I may modify the rules so everyone does a single pose and passes to the next player. Aside from that, it really is a great game.

Great fun -- sure it's only for kids?

Gift given to a 4 1/2 year old - but enjoyed in play with younger sibling -- just 2. Their mother commented...this could be fun for adults to play! When I stopped by recently, all the cards were displayed in their holders in a nice line-up, so I saw with my own eyes how much fun they were having with the deck.

This game is great! I got it for my daughter for her 4th birthday, and she loves it! We all get the giggles every time we play! As a physical therapist, I also appreciate the developmental side - balance training, we work on single leg standing, holding positions, things that are challenging for a child her age. It is a fun way to work on these skills!
