My grandson turned nine in January and requested a learning calendar for his birthday. I had given him one last Christmas and he read it each day. Of all the toys he could have asked for, this is the item he wanted most. I am very glad you carry this quality item.

This calendar is full of information! It's fun to have a factoid to read each day, and spark conversations with the kids. The only problem is, most of the daily facts don't spark a lot of conversation, at least not with my kids! (For instance, Richard Nixon's birthday didn't get a big reaction.) I would prefer to read about events, even obscure/trivial events, that somehow tie into or increase understanding of life today. Overall, though, it's always nice to have another source of information and ideas, so I would recommend this calendar.

It's hard to judge on "Play Value" of this item since this calendar is more of a learning tool, but not a toy. I purchased total of 3 calendars: one - for my daughter's (she is 10) personal use and other 2 we gifted to her school for classroom uses. I hope teachers will implement information on these calendars into their daily classroom activities, so kids can learn something new on the daily bases.
