I bought this for my 5 year old son along with Rapunzel and The Girl Who Loved Danger.
We read books every night, but I wanted to add something new.
We started out with me reading the enclosed story card and I would move the characters around. Then I would read the card and he would act out the scene. Now, he tells me the story on his own and acts out the story all by himself.
It's been a great way to get him to learn to tell a story (as he is not quite reading on his own), but he's also tired of me always doing the talking when I read to him.
Only downside: It took me a few times through to figure out what to do with the tissue paper. Other story boxes you can find a 'demo' with Steve Light on line, so you can see how he makes it work, but this one I couldn't find a demo. It wasn't obvious to me to put it into the belly of the monster until a few times through the story. But, once I figured that out, the telling became even more dramatic and fun (especially for a 5 year old!)
