Whoosh! – Splat. Get set to fling things through the air!

Instructions and diagrams help you build authentic working model catapults. You’ll build Greek ballistae, Roman onagers, English trebuchets, and more amazing ancient artillery. Ten working models to be exact.

Defend your own castle, chuck pumpkins over a fence – but first become fast acquainted with the names, designs and purposes of famous catapults throughout history.

The Greeks, the Romans, the English… they all built catapults. Their artillery suggests strength and intelligence. It conjures up images of determined tinkerers on a quest. It’s appropriate to be intrigued. Especially so, when you start building working catapults guided by this fascinating book.

Take on the engineering genius of authentic catapults. Understand fundamentals of math and physics - levers, force, torsion, tension, and traction - better than ever before.

Be projected into historic catapult strategy - Alexander the Great and his battle of Tyre; Saladin, Richard the Lionheart, and the Third Crusade; pirate-turned-soldier John Crabbe and his ship-mounted catapults; and Edward I of England and his battle against the Scots at Stirling Castle.

I actually bought this for grandpa to do with my kids. He is in love with the book and the trebuchet kit I also bought. It has given him lots of plans on things to do in the backyard with the grandkids.
